<p><strong>About This Opportunity</strong><br><br>
We are seeking a passionate and collaborative <strong>Teacher Librarian</strong> to join our Junior School Library team and help create a connected, engaging and progressive library experience for students from Preschool to Year 6.<br><br><br><br>
Working across the Lucy Hill Library and Arnold Library, you will inspire students to read widely, develop their individual reading identities and discover the joy, imagination and possibilities offered by quality literature. You will thoughtfully curate print and digital resources and create an inclusive, welcoming Library environment in which students feel supported to participate, explore and learn.<br><br><br>
As an integral partner in learning and teaching, you will collaborate with Year Level teams to enrich Units of Inquiry through literature, information resources and technology. You will support students to ask thoughtful questions, evaluate sources, communicate information effectively and use information ethically and responsibly.<br><br><br>
You will also contribute to the continued development of a consistent and connected P-6 Library service, including aligning collection-management practices, reviewing resources and supporting the future development of Library spaces, systems and services. <br><br><br>

You are an experienced primary educator with a genuine passion for children's literature and a strong commitment to fostering reading for pleasure. You understand how a vibrant Library can extend classroom learning, strengthen student belonging and help children become confident, curious and independent learners.<br><br><br>
You will bring:<br><br><br>

<li>NESA accreditation to teach in New South Wales</li>
<li>A qualification in Teacher Librarianship, or a commitment to undertake further study towards an ALIA-accredited Teacher Librarianship qualification</li>
<li>Extensive teaching experience in a primary school context</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of children's literature, curriculum and information literacy</li>
<li>A demonstrated commitment to literacy, literature and fostering a lifelong love of reading</li>
<li>Experience collaborating with colleagues to support curriculum learning, inquiry and student engagement</li>
<li>An understanding of collection development, with the capacity to build knowledge of Library resources and systems</li>
<li>The capability to contribute to the leadership of an effective Library service</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills</li>
<li>A collaborative, creative and proactive approach</li>
<li>Sound professional judgement and a commitment to continuous learning</li>
<li>A firm commitment to child safety and safeguarding.</li>
</ul>
<p>Experience as a Teacher Librarian in a primary school setting and knowledge of Softlink Oliver, or a comparable Library management system, will be highly regarded.
