As a Teacher Librarian, you will inspire students through engaging, student-centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment. The Teacher Librarian oversees the College Library, promoting reading, literacy and engagement with learning. This includes maintaining collections that are suitable for secondary students to broaden their exposure to literature, culture and history. <br><br>
As a teacher, the librarian will teach and facilitate opportunities for deep reading, develop comprehension skills and suggest appropriate texts based upon a student's interest, age and ability. The Teacher Librarian also leads a team of support staff to ensure the administration of the library is effectively operated. The Teacher Librarian will provide a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment, encouraging staff and students to access the space to research, study and deepen their love of learning.<br><br>
To excel in this role, you will be able to:</p>

<li>demonstrate recognised NESA academic qualifications to teach (teaching is included in a Teacher-Librarian role)</li>

<li>demonstrate excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being</li>
<li>integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences</li>
<li>exhibit interpersonal skills with parents, students and staff</li>
<li>demonstrate ability to work in a collaborative team, especially in a job share role</li>
<li>lead the day-to-day operation and development of the College's library services</li>
<li>manage library staff, budgets, resources and systems</li>
<li>maintain welcoming and engaging library spaces for students and staff</li>
<li>oversee the selection, purchasing, cataloguing and organisation of print and digital resources</li>
<li>collaborate with teaching staff to support curriculum delivery and student learning</li>
<li>promote reading, literacy, research skills and responsible use of information</li>
<li>coordinate library programs and events</li>
<li>support the Catholic ethos and values of the College through the availability of resources and materials in the Library, and interaction with staff and students alike</li>
<li>support teachers in access to resources, digital and otherwise, to enhance the curriculum in each subject area</li>
<li>work closely with students accessing the library as a 'study' facility, to assist in their engagement and focus.</li>
