Flexible Schools respond with a variety of flexible and innovative teaching and learning practices, including vocational planning and the development of social connectedness.<br><br> St Francis Flexible School is establishing a new campus in Wynyard in 2027, initially providing a flexible and highly supported educational environment for young people in Years 7-10, before expanding to include Years 11 and 12 from 2028.<br><br><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong><br><br> The Associate Head of Campus is a key member of the Campus Leadership Team, providing leadership across teaching and learning, curriculum, staff development and daily campus operations. The role leads and supports teaching staff, drives high-quality trauma-aware and flexible learning practices, and assumes leadership of the campus in the absence of the Head of Campus, while maintaining a 0.5 teaching load.<br><br> The Associate Head of Campus is a key member of the Campus Leadership Team at St Francis Flexible School, North West Campus. Working closely with the Head of Campus, the role provides leadership across teaching and learning, curriculum, staff development, student engagement and daily campus operations.<br><br> The Associate Head of Campus has particular responsibility for leading high-quality teaching and learning practices consistent with the EREA Flexible Schools Flexi Practice Framework and Operation by Principles. This includes oversight of curriculum delivery, learning pathways, student progress and achievement, assessment and reporting, literacy and numeracy intervention, and the development of the campus timetable and learning program.<br><br> The role will lead and support teaching staff, including line management, coaching, professional learning, performance development and the establishment of consistent teaching and learning practices across the campus. The Associate Head of Campus will work collaboratively with the Campus Leadership Team to support NCCD processes, learning plan moderation and appropriate adjustments for young people.<br><br> A key focus of the position is ensuring that curriculum and learning programs are responsive to the needs of young people who have experienced barriers to engagement in mainstream education. The Associate Head of Campus will support staff to implement trauma-aware, flexible and relationship-based approaches that strengthen engagement, participation and learning outcomes.<br><br> The role will also contribute to the development of curriculum and pathway opportunities through partnerships with industry, community organisations and external stakeholders, including opportunities for work placement and applied learning.<br><br> As a foundation leadership position at the North West Campus, the successful applicant will contribute to establishing the teaching and learning structures, systems and practices required for the commencement of the campus in 2027.<br><br> This is a 1.0 FTE continuing position incorporating a 0.5 teaching load.<br><br><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong><br><br> The successful applicant will require:</p> <ul> <li>Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.</li> <li>Be able and willing to uphold and role model the schools' principles of operation of Respect, Safe and Legal, Honesty and Participation.</li> <li>Strong understanding of the developmental needs of marginalised young people.</li> <li>Proven leadership experience, both strategic and operational, characterised by strong organisational, administrative, communication, and leadership skills, particularly in relation to areas outlined in this position.</li> <li>Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.</li> <li>Tertiary qualification in Teaching and other related disciplines, or equivalent experience.</li> <li>Current registration with the state or territory's relevant teaching authority.</li> <li>Current Working with Vulnerable People Check (or ability to obtain).</li> <li>Valid Australian Driver's Licence (and willingness to drive school vehicles).</li> <li>Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)</li> </ul> <p><strong>WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU</strong></p> <ul> <li>Professional development opportunities</li> <li>Salary sacrificing benefits, including FBT exempt payments of up to $15,900 p/a</li> <li>Edmund Rice charism</li> <li>12% Superannuation contribution</li> </ul> <p><strong>HOW TO APPLY </strong><i><strong>(Please upload documents in PDF format)</strong></i><br><br> To apply for a position, please click apply to access our external portal.
