Flexible Schools respond with a variety of flexible and innovative teaching and learning practices, including vocational planning and the development of social connectedness.<br><br> St Francis Flexible School is establishing a new campus in Wynyard in 2027, initially providing a flexible and highly supported educational environment for young people in Years 7-10, before expanding to include Years 11 and 12 from 2028.<br><br><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong><br><br> Director of Wellbeing is a key member of the Campus Leadership Team at St Francis Flexible School, North West Campus. The role provides leadership across student wellbeing, engagement, pastoral care and inclusion, supporting the development of a safe, relational and trauma-aware learning environment for young people in Years 7-10 in 2027, expanding to Years 11-12 from 2028.<br><br> As a foundation leadership position at the North West Campus, the role will also contribute to the establishment of campus systems, procedures, community partnerships and daily operations as the new campus commences in 2027.<br><br> Working closely with the Head of Campus and wider staff team, the Director of Wellbeing will lead the development and implementation of wellbeing and engagement practices consistent with the EREA Flexible Schools Flexi Practice Framework and Operation by Principles. The role has particular responsibility for supporting young people experiencing barriers to attendance, engagement and learning, including the coordination of individual support, engagement and transition planning.<br><br> This is a 1.0 FTE continuing position incorporating a 0.5 teaching load.<br><br> Key responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>leading student wellbeing and pastoral care processes;</li> <li>monitoring attendance and engagement; coordinating student support meetings and interventions;</li> <li>supporting NCCD processes;</li> <li>providing professional guidance and secondary consultation to staff; and</li> <li>strengthening relationships with families, community organisations and external support services.</li> </ul> <p><br><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p> <ul> <li>A current registration to Work with Vulnerable People, i.e. a WWVP Card.</li> <li>Bachelor of Education (Primary or Secondary).</li> <li>Current registration with the state or territory's relevant teaching authority.</li> <li>A current First Aid certificate or ability to obtain.</li> <li>A current Driver's License.</li> <li>Demonstrated successful teaching experience, normally including at least three years of professional practice.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience developing PLPs and innovative curriculum with the ability to make adjustments and differentiate.</li> <li>A strong understanding of contemporary pedagogy and inclusive education, including the planning, documentation, assessment and delivery of engaging, flexible and trauma-informed learning experiences for diverse learners.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with families, support staff and multidisciplinary teams to implement inclusive educational supports and improve outcomes for Young People</li> </ul> <p><strong>WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU</strong></p> <ul> <li>Professional development opportunities</li> <li>Salary sacrificing benefits, including FBT exempt payments of up to $15,900 p/a</li> <li>Edmund Rice charism</li> <li>12% Superannuation contribution</li> </ul> <p><br><strong>HOW TO APPLY </strong><i><strong>(Please upload documents in PDF format)</strong></i></p> <p>To apply for a position, please click apply to access our external portal.
