<p><strong>Job Description and Duty Statement</strong></p> <p><strong>Job Title:</strong> &nbsp; &nbsp; Secondary Mathematics Teacher (Yr 7-12) 1.0 FTE</p> <p><strong>Department:&nbsp; &nbsp; Secondary School</strong></p> <p><strong>Job Grade:&nbsp; &nbsp;Subject to experience</strong></p> <p><strong>Report to:&nbsp; Head of Faculty of Mathematics</strong></p> <p><strong>Date Prepared:&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;September 2026</strong></p> <p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p> <p>Sapphire Coast Anglican College is a PK-12, independent, Anglican College and is a Christ-centred, student-focused, community-minded school that develops extraordinary learners with a passion to serve others. Established in 1994, the College is located on the Far South Coast of NSW in the heart of the Bega Valley with an enrolment of approximately 465 students.</p> <p>As a Secondary Mathematics Teacher at Sapphire Coast Anglican College, you will be responsible for delivering high quality teaching and learning experiences that are engaging and meaningful. This role is full time, ongoing. Commencing in January 2027.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Deliver the Mathematics curriculum in a dynamic way in the classroom, using initiative in bringing fresh and creative ideas to the classroom</li> <li>Teaching Stage 4, 5 and 6 Mathematics, as required by the College</li> <li>Provide a safe and supportive learning environment with a focus on explicit instruction, developing deep understanding and the use of assessment for learning</li> <li>Provide innovative assessment that is clear and fair and provide regular and meaningful feedback</li> <li>Possess strong IT skills with the ability to integrate digital technologies into the teaching and learning program</li> <li>Experience teaching Mathematics Extension 1 would be advantageous, but not essential</li> <li>A strong awareness of the NSW curriculum and assessment requirements.</li> <li>Ability to differentiate curriculum for Years 7 to 12.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work collaboratively with your teaching partners to program, teach and evaluate lessons</li> <li>Pastoral responsibility for a tutor group</li> <li>Ability and commitment to design learning experiences that originate from student interests</li> <li>Ability and willingness to engage in daily conversations with parents about their child’s learning and development</li> <li>Uphold the Christian teachings of the College, encouraging students to serve others</li> <li>Active participation in co-curricular activities, as well as fulfilment of other duty of care responsibilities as directed by the College</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills / Knowledge</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with other teachers, and work as part of a team, including the ability to confidently and constructively debate ideas with your teaching partners</li> <li>Demonstrated proven ability to effectively engage students, together with excellent classroom management skills</li> <li>Work ethic reflecting a commitment to excellence in teaching</li> <li>Excellent organisation and planning skills; must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities within strict deadlines</li> <li>Competent use of technology and communication with parents and carers</li> <li> <p>Ability and willingness to be flexible when working within a team</p> <p><strong>College Values</strong></p></li> <li>Compassion</li> <li>Honesty</li> <li>Respect</li> <li>Integrity</li> <li>Service</li> <li>Thankfulness</li> </ul> <p>Report to Head of Faculty of Mathematics &amp; Principal</p> <p>To commence:&nbsp; January 2027</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
