St Andrew’s Primary School invites applications from inspiring, collaborative and faith-filled leaders for the position of Deputy Principal, commencing January 2027 for a 3 year tenure. This full-time position will be undertaken in conjunction with an additional leadership role aligned with the strengths and expertise of the successful applicant and the needs of the school.

<p>The successful applicant will be an engaging educational leader who demonstrates a deep commitment to Catholic Education and a passion for fostering a culture in which students, staff and families flourish. They will be remunerated in accordance with the Category B Deputy Principal Salary Level 2–1, reflecting the responsibilities and expectations of this leadership position.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Leading the mission and Catholic identity of the school.</li> <li>Developing the capacities of others, individually and in teams, to strive for excellence in instruction and engagement.</li> <li>Driving strategic improvement initiatives aligned with the School Improvement Plan and Annual Action Plan.</li> <li>Promoting high-quality learning and teaching, with a strong emphasis on explicit and direct instruction.</li> <li>Supporting student wellbeing through evidence-based approaches, such as the Berry Street Education Model and Positive Behaviours for Learning.</li> <li>Building strong partnerships with staff, students, families and the wider community.</li> <li>Contributing to a positive, inclusive and collaborative school culture.</li> <li>Assisting in the effective management of human, financial and physical resources.</li> </ul> <p><strong>The successful applicant will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate exemplary leadership capabilities and a commitment to continuous school improvement.</li> <li>Communicate effectively and build strong, respectful relationships across the community.</li> <li>Inspire staff through collaborative practice, mentorship and a commitment to professional growth.</li> <li>Bring strong organisational skills and the ability to lead complex initiatives with clarity and purpose.</li> <li>Show a passion for student wellbeing and the creation of engaging, supportive learning environments for all.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Applications must include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Cover letter (maximum 1 page) outlining:&nbsp; <ul> <li>the leadership roles you have held and the ways you have influenced whole-school improvement and innovation</li> <li>your strengths, passions and drivers in learning and teaching, including how you use evidence to shape practice</li> <li>the leadership qualities, mindsets and capabilities you would bring to our team and how they position you to thrive in this role</li> </ul></li> <li>a current Curriculum Vitae&nbsp;</li> <li>response to the Key Selection Criteria (maximum 3 pages)</li> <li>Certified evidence of Victorian Institute of Teaching registration</li> <li>Certified evidence of academic qualifications – inclusive of tertiary qualifications, academic qualifications additional to initial teacher education (Master’s degree or five-year equivalent) and accreditation to teach and lead Religious Education in a Catholic School.</li> </ul> <p>This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or aspiring school leader to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing growth and mission of St Andrew’s Primary School.</p>
