The position is term time only and will commence on 20 January 2027. The successful applicant will work two days per week and must be available on any two days between Monday and Wednesday.</p> <p>The College Counsellor/Psychologist plays an important role in promoting students’ psychological health, social and emotional wellbeing, engagement and academic success. Working collaboratively with students, families, staff and external professionals, the successful applicant will provide counselling, assessment, early intervention, referral and advice appropriate to students’ individual needs.</p> <p>As Rosebank expands to include Stage 3 from 2027, the successful applicant will have the professional capability and relational approach needed to nurture student wellbeing across all year levels. They will understand the differing developmental, social and emotional needs of students from Stage 3 through to Stage 6 and provide responsive, age-appropriate support across childhood and adolescence.</p> <p>The College Counsellor/Psychologist reports to the Dean of Pastoral Care and is a member of the Pastoral Leadership Team. The role provides professional advice and guidance on student wellbeing matters and contributes to the just, compassionate and coordinated management of student care across the College.</p> <p>For further information about the role, please see the position description.</p> <p><br><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>Relevant tertiary qualifications and general registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).</li> <li>Experience supporting the psychological, social and emotional wellbeing of school-aged children and adolescents across differing developmental stages.</li> <li>Knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health assessment, evidence-based intervention and appropriate referral pathways.</li> <li>The ability to build safe, respectful and trusting relationships with students from Stage 3 through to Stage 6.</li> <li>A strong duty of care and a commitment to providing professional, confidential and evidence-based services within appropriate ethical and legal frameworks.</li> <li>The ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with the Pastoral Leadership Team, teaching staff, families and relevant external professionals.</li> <li>The capacity to advise and support educators in developing appropriate student wellbeing and learning support plans.</li> <li>The ability to provide psychoeducation and professional guidance to staff and, where appropriate, families.</li> <li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and record-keeping skills.</li> <li>A sound understanding of current child-safe principles, legislation, professional obligations and relevant guidelines.</li> <li>A commitment to the College’s child safeguarding practices and the Catholic ethos and learning culture of Rosebank College.</li> <li>A current Working with Children Check or the ability to obtain one before commencement.</li> </ul> <p><br><strong>Desirable Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience delivering evidence-based wellbeing interventions, preventative programs and staff professional learning.</li> <li>Previous experience working as a psychologist in a primary and/or secondary school setting.</li> <li>Experience supporting students across a broad range of developmental stages, including upper-primary-aged students.</li> </ul> <p><br> Applicants must hold a current Working with Children Check and current First Aid and CPR certification.
