We are looking for someone who is passionate about the education and wellbeing of students and who wants to contribute to our culture of excellence. Start date is Term 1 2027.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The Japanese Language Assistant will support the Languages team through:</p> <ul> <li>Conducting conversational Japanese practice with students.</li> <li>Assisting in the planning and delivery of language learning activities.</li> <li>Providing cultural knowledge and authentic language experiences.</li> <li>Supporting classroom programs from Years 7 to 12.</li> <li>Assisting with cocurricular activities and events that promote Japanese language and culture.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <ul> <li>Native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written Japanese.</li> <li>Sound knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Curriculum Japanese (Years 7-10) and the VCE Japanese Study Design (Years 11-12).</li> <li>The ability to work collaboratively with teachers to support student learning and language development.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build positive relationships with students and staff.</li> <li>A passion for promoting Japanese language and culture within the school community.</li> <li>Experience working with secondary school students in a language-learning environment.</li> <li>Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration, with the ability and willingness to undertake teaching duties.
