<p>Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School is situated in the convenient location of Lenah Valley, offering classes from Kindergarten to Grade 6 in a caring, friendly, family environment.</p>
<p>We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Utility Officer to join our team and help maintain a safe, welcoming, and well‑functioning school environment that supports high‑quality learning for all students.</p>
<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The Utility Officer plays a vital role in ensuring our school grounds, buildings, and facilities are clean, safe, and well maintained. This position requires a hands‑on, proactive individual with trade-level skills who can coordinate maintenance tasks and respond effectively to daily operational needs.</p>
<p>The successful applicant will support the Catholic Identity and Evangelising Mission of the school and work collaboratively with staff, contractors, volunteers, and the broader school community.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate school maintenance program, allocating tasks to other utility staff, sub-contractors and/or volunteers as appropriate, and supervising work performed.</li>
<li>Coordinate and supervise school turf care and grounds program, allocating tasks to other utility staff, sub-contractors and/or volunteers as appropriate, and supervising work performed.</li>
<li>Undertake specialised maintenance and / or grounds tasks that require the planning, ordering and modification of building or other materials.</li>
<li>Maintain hand and power tools and equipment to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose.</li>
<li>Follow chemical usage and storage procedures and when required, mix chemicals following manufacturer and organisational standards.</li>
<li>Ensure that school vehicles such as buses or utility vehicles are registered, maintained and cleaned and undertake such duties when required.</li>
<li>Move items of furniture and classroom supplies around the School.</li>
<li>Mark lines on school ovals/grounds for sporting events.</li>
<li>Set up furniture and equipment for sporting and special events at the School such as marquees or tents.</li>

<p><strong>Qualifications & Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Valid Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP).</li>
<li>Current and satisfactory National Police Criminal History Check.</li>
<li>Relevant qualification eg Trade Certificate or Certificate III or equivalent</li>
<li>Current Tasmanian vehicle driver licence</li>
<li>Current Tasmanian driver licence for medium rigid vehicles or the willingness to work towards obtaining one.</li>
