<ul> <li>Teaching contract opportunity for September to December 2026</li> <li>Inspire creativity and innovation through hands-on learning</li> <li>Contribute to a vibrant College community</li> </ul> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced<strong>&nbsp;Design and Technology Teacher</strong> to join our <strong>Secondary Years</strong> team from <strong>September to December 2026.</strong></p> <p>This role provides an exciting opportunity to engage students in innovative and practical learning experiences that develop creative thinking, design processes, technical skills and real-world problem-solving capabilities. Working collaboratively with colleagues and College leaders, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs, support student wellbeing and achievement, and contribute to a culture of educational excellence aligned with the College's future-focused vision.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology programs that align with curriculum requirements and contemporary industry practices.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop practical and theoretical learning experiences that foster creativity, innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Differentiate teaching, assessment and learning activities to support the diverse needs and abilities of students.</li> <li>Monitor student progress, utilise assessment data effectively, and provide timely feedback to support continuous improvement.</li> <li>Support the pastoral care, wellbeing and positive behaviour development of students within and beyond the classroom.&nbsp;</li> <li>Contribute actively to curriculum development, co-curricular programs and the broader life of the College.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>A relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Design and Technology, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Design, or a related discipline, together with current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated experience teaching Design and Technology subjects within a secondary school environment.</li> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum development, assessment and reporting practices relevant to Design and Technology education.</li> <li>Experience integrating contemporary technologies, digital tools and practical learning methodologies into teaching and learning programs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to support students in design thinking and project-based learning.&nbsp;</li> <li>Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Highly developed organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage assessment, planning and administrative responsibilities.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, reflective practice and collaborative teamwork.</li> <li>Willingness to contribute to co-curricular programs and the wider life of the College.</li> <li>Commitment to the College's Christian ethos and values.</li> </ul> <p><strong>How to Apply</strong></p> <p>To apply, please submit your cover letter and curriculum vitae, demonstrating how you meet the requirements of the Position Description by clicking on the Apply button provided.
