Concordia College is seeking an experienced and professional Gardener / Groundsperson to join the College and assist in the maintenance of the College grounds, gardens and outdoor sporting facilities to a high standard.

<p><strong>Join our team and help maintain outstanding grounds that our students, staff and community can enjoy every day.</strong></p> <p>We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced <strong>Gardener / Groundsperson</strong>&nbsp;to join our Property &amp; Facilities team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in creating and maintaining exceptional outdoor environments and enjoys working as part of a supportive team.</p> <p>The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the College grounds, gardens and outdoor sporting facilities to a high standard and will have the flexibility to work across all College campuses as required.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Carry out routine maintenance of College grounds and oval surfaces.</li> <li>Prepare and maintain the main oval to support College activities and sporting events seven days a week.</li> <li>Maintain gardens, lawns and landscaped areas across college campuses.</li> <li>Operate, maintain and care for horticultural machinery, equipment and tools.</li> <li>Perform horticultural maintenance including planting, pruning, irrigation, fertilising, pest and weed control.</li> <li>Ensure all grounds are maintained in a safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing condition.</li> <li>Contribute to the ongoing presentation and improvement of the College's outdoor environments.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with the Property &amp; Facilities team to support College operations.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>The successful candidate will possess:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum <strong>Certificate III in Horticulture</strong>&nbsp;(Certificate IV in Horticulture or equivalent highly regarded).</li> <li>A minimum of <strong>three years' experience</strong>&nbsp;in a relevant horticultural or grounds maintenance role (five or more years preferred).</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in: <ul> <li>Maintenance of horticultural displays.</li> <li>Pest, weed and disease identification and control.</li> <li>Plant nutrition and fertiliser programs.</li> <li>Irrigation systems and maintenance.</li> </ul></li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and positive approach.</li> <li>The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.</li> <li>A sound understanding and practical application of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.</li> <li>A flexible, adaptable and proactive work ethic.</li> <li>A commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation and safety.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Mandatory Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Hold, or be willing to obtain, a <strong>Working with Children Check</strong>.</li> <li>Hold, or be willing to obtain, <strong>Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC)</strong>&nbsp;certification.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>A supportive and collaborative team environment.</li> <li>Variety in your work across multiple College campuses.</li> <li>The opportunity to contribute to the presentation of outstanding educational facilities.</li> <li>Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.</li> <li>A workplace that values safety, teamwork and excellence.</li> </ul> <p>If you are passionate about horticulture, enjoy working outdoors and take pride in creating exceptional grounds and sporting facilities, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p><strong>Applications close 9.00am Monday 16 August 2026, however applications will be considered as they are received, so please apply as soon as possible.</strong></p>
