Faith Lutheran College is seeking a passionate and experienced Music educator to join our vibrant learning community as Learning Area Coordinator – Music, commencing Term 1, 2027.
<p><strong>Learning Area Coordinator – Music (Head of Music)</strong><br><strong>Contract Type:</strong> Permanent Full-Time Position, (with Leadership Allowance)</p>
<p>Faith Lutheran College is seeking a passionate and experienced Music educator to lead our Music Learning Area across Years 7–12. Commencing in Term1, 2027 this is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring leader to shape the future of Music education, foster excellence in teaching and learning, and contribute to the vibrant Performing Arts culture within our Christ-centred school community</p>
<p><strong>The Position</strong></p>
<p>As <strong>Learning Area Coordinator - Music</strong>, you will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide leadership and strategic direction for the College's Music Learning Area across Years 7–12.</li>
<li>Lead curriculum development, pedagogy, assessment and reporting practices, ensuring alignment with the Australian Curriculum, SACE and the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).</li>
<li>Develop and maintain a cohesive Music curriculum that promotes student engagement, creativity, performance excellence and lifelong learning.</li>
<li>Mentor and support Music staff through professional growth, collaboration, coaching and modelling exemplary classroom practice.</li>
<li>Foster inclusive and differentiated learning experiences that enable all students to thrive and achieve their personal best.</li>
<li>Coordinate and promote Music-related performances, excursions, competitions and co-curricular opportunities that enrich student learning.</li>
<li>Manage learning area resources, facilities and budget to support high-quality teaching and learning programs.</li>
<li>Build strong partnerships with students, staff, parents and the wider community, promoting the value and profile of Music within the College.</li>
<li>Contribute actively to College-wide curriculum initiatives, professional learning and strategic improvement.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>To be successful in this role, you will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Hold relevant teaching qualifications, Music specialisation, and current registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.</li>
<li>Demonstrate strong curriculum and assessment knowledge, particularly within the Australian Curriculum, SACE and IB Middle Years Programme frameworks.</li>
<li>Be an outstanding Music educator with a proven ability to deliver high-quality learning experiences across a range of year levels.</li>
<li>Have experience leading, mentoring or coordinating staff, with the ability to inspire a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Possess strong organisational, communication and relationship-building skills.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a passion for Music education and a commitment to fostering excellence in performance, creativity and student learning outcomes.</li>
