Make a lasting difference.</strong></p> <p>St Martins Lutheran College is a welcoming, caring and Christ-centred Reception to Year 12 learning community where students are inspired to grow, flourish and make a difference.</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced and compassionate College Counsellor to join our Student Care Team. Working across our Reception to Year 12 community, you will provide professional counselling, coordinate support for students with complex needs, and collaborate with staff, families and external agencies to promote positive wellbeing outcomes. While the role supports students across the College, the majority of the caseload is focused on students in Years 7–12.</p> <p>Join a school that values proactive, relationship-based wellbeing and gives you the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people. You'll join a collaborative Student Care Team committed to supporting students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.</p> <p><strong>About the Opportunity</strong></p> <p>Key responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Provide individual and small group counselling to students.&nbsp;</li> <li>Undertake wellbeing, risk and safety assessments, including crisis intervention.&nbsp;</li> <li>Coordinate support for students with complex needs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Collaborate with families, staff and external agencies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop and deliver wellbeing and early intervention programs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Contribute to the College's Student Care Team and Critical Incident Management Team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You’ll Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>Relevant tertiary qualifications in counselling, psychology, social work or a related discipline.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents.&nbsp;</li> <li>Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Knowledge of child protection and contemporary wellbeing practices.&nbsp;</li> <li>The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.</li> </ul> <p>Applications are welcomed from qualified counsellors, psychologists, social workers and registered teachers with postgraduate qualifications in counselling or a related field.</p> <p><strong>Employment Conditions</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will be appointed under the teacher or non-teaching classification structure of the Lutheran Schools SA Enterprise Agreement, depending on their qualifications, registration and experience.</p> <p>Teacher pathway</p> <ul> <li>Full-time (1.0 FTE)&nbsp;</li> <li>Salary in accordance with the teacher classification structure ($89,558 - $123,993 per annum)</li> </ul> <p>Non-teaching pathway</p> <ul> <li>41 weeks per year (40 term weeks plus one week prior to the commencement of Term 1)</li> <li>37.5 hours per week&nbsp;</li> <li>Hourly rate of $54.57 to $61.78 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience</li> </ul> <p><strong>Applications:</strong></p> <p>Applications should include:</p> <ul> <li>A cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.&nbsp;</li> <li>A current curriculum vitae.&nbsp;</li> <li>The names and contact details of three professional referees.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>Applications close 9:00 am on Friday 24 July 2026.</p> <p><strong>Enquiries to:</strong><br> Celia Mara<br> Deputy Principal<br> Ph: 0499 846 196</p> <p><strong>Applications to:</strong><br> Email: hr@stmartins.sa.edu.au</p> <p>St Martins Lutheran College has a zero-tolerance approach regarding harm to children and young people and is committed to acting in students’ best interests and keeping them safe from harm.<br> Each member of the College has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role that they play individually, and collectively, to ensure that the wellbeing and safety of all students is at the forefront of all that they do, and every decision that they make.<br> &nbsp;</p>
