These classes provide personalised learning opportunities for students with complex disabilities in a small, well-resourced setting within our welcoming Catholic community.<br> Good Shepherd Catholic Primary is a co-educational K-6 school located 5 minutes from the M7 (Prestons exit) and 10 minutes from Liverpool CBD.<br><br><strong>About the Role</strong><br><br> As an Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively with Specialist Support teaching staff to build their capacity to meet the learning needs of students with complex needs. This may include providing high level professional advice including, consultation, co-teaching, planning and using available data and information about each student to enable positive learning outcomes.&nbsp;<br><br> This is a two day per week position during school term time. For those interested in additional days, our neighbouring school, Good Samaritan Catholic College Hinchinbrook, also has a two day per week position available, and we warmly encourage you to submit an application for this position as well, should this be of interest to you.<br><br> Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>contributing to the development of student goals, adjustments and Personalised Plans by analysing student information and providing recommendations aligned to student needs</li> <li>supporting student participation in everyday learning and leisure environments</li> <li>liaising and consulting with external therapy teams to enhance student outcomes and inform goal setting and planning</li> <li>building teacher capability and understanding in using sustainable adjustments and interventions</li> <li>collaborating with teaching staff to develop learning adjustments and interventions that enable student engagement</li> <li>understanding and keeping up to date with emerging research and educational trends related to supporting students with complex needs</li> <li>developing and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the NSW Curriculum and Syllabuses to effectively support teaching and learning</li> <li>evaluating interventions and plans, monitoring progress and identifying required modifications</li> <li>engaging staff and team members in data analysis to inform and monitor student learning</li> <li>completing a range of screening assessments for students</li> <li>contributing to parent and collaborative planning meetings.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About You</strong><br><br> To thrive in this role, you will possess:</p> <ul> <li>a degree qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia</li> <li>a minimum of five years' post qualification experience, specialising in supporting children with complex disabilities, including Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder and those with sensory, social/emotional, and physical needs</li> <li>the ability to analyse assessment and medical data to inform decisions and recommendations</li> <li>experience working in a collaborative service delivery model with exposure to schools or educational settings</li> <li>a high level of professionalism and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information</li> <li>a willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.</li> </ul> <p>Desirable:</p> <ul> <li>a current drivers license and access to a car</li> <li>knowledge of Catholic Systemic Schools/Systems.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong><br><br> Joining <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/">Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS)</a> means being part of NSW's largest Catholic education community, with over 145 schools and 75,000 students.
