<p>We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and qualified <strong>Primary Science/STEM Teacher & Sustainability Coordinator</strong> to join our team on Wednesdays and Thursdays for Term Three. This dual-focused role is perfect for an educator who is passionate about delivering hands-on, inquiry-based science education while simultaneously leading whole-school environmental and sustainability strategies.</p>
<p>You will inspire students from Prep Year 6 to explore the wonders of the natural world, while driving impactful green initiatives across our campus and wider community.</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities</p>
<p><strong>1. Science Education & Teaching Excellence</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Design and deliver</strong> an engaging, inquiry-based primary science curriculum that aligns with national standards.</li>
<li><strong>Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment</strong> that encourages scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving.</li>
<li><strong>Utilise diverse teaching strategies</strong> and practical experiments to cater to different learning styles and abilities.</li>
<li><strong>Assess and report</strong> on student progress, providing constructive feedback to students, parents, and school leadership.</li>
<li><strong>Manage science resources</strong>, equipment, and learning spaces effectively and safely.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>2. Sustainability Leadership</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Develop, implement, and oversee</strong> the school’s long-term sustainability strategy and environmental policies.</li>
<li><strong>Lead whole-school green initiatives</strong>, such as waste reduction/recycling programs, energy-saving schemes, and biodiversity projects (e.g., school garden, composting).</li>
<li><strong>Work with Student Sustainability Leaders</strong>, empowering student voice and leadership in environmental advocacy.</li>
<li><strong>Collaborate with staff</strong> to integrate sustainability concepts into other areas of the broader school curriculum.</li>
<li><strong>Engage with the wider community</strong>, seeking out environmental grants, partnerships, and community-based green projects.</li>
