We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Music KLA 2 Point Coordinator to join the College commencing at the start of Term 3, 2026.
<p><strong>About the role</strong></p>
<p>St Dominic's College invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced teachers for the position of Music KLA Coordinator. This is a promotional role carrying a 2 point coordinator allowance, appointed for an initial period of three (3) years with the opportunity for a further three (3) years pending review.</p>
<p>The underlying teaching position is full-time and permanent. The coordinator appointment is temporary in nature and subject to the College's review process at the conclusion of each appointment period.</p>

<p><strong>Key responsibilities include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide educational leadership across the Music KLA, driving curriculum quality and student outcomes </li>
<li>Lead, support and mentor Music teaching staff </li>
<li>Oversee the development, implementation and review of Music curriculum programs aligned with NESA requirements </li>
<li>Coordinate co-curricular music programs and whole-school music events </li>
<li>Coordinate the College Band program, including organising rehearsals, directing performances, and supporting student musicians (note: this may involve work outside normal school hours)</li>
<li>Lead and support student musicians in preparation for internal and external performances</li>
<li>Liaise with staff and external providers (where required) to support the delivery of high quality music performances </li>
<li>Manage KLA resources, budgets and administrative requirements </li>
<li>Build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and families.</li>
<li>Support the delivery of College pastoral initiatives, assemblies, and events.</li>
<li>Model and promote the College’s Catholic values and the Edmund Rice Charism.</li>

<p><strong>Essential Criteria:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A strong commitment to Catholic values, morals, and faith in the Edmund Rice tradition </li>
<li>Current NESA accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above </li>
<li>Tertiary qualifications in Music Education or a relevant discipline recognised by NESA </li>
<li>Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner in Music across multiple Stages in a secondary setting </li>
<li>Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, support and mentor colleagues within a KLA or faculty context </li>
<li>Sound knowledge of NESA Music syllabus requirements, assessment design and reporting obligations </li>
<li>Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students and parents</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Highly Desirable Criteria:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in a coordinator, head teacher or similar promotional role </li>
<li>Demonstrated experience developing and reviewing KLA curriculum programs and assessment schedules </li>
<li>Experience coordinating or leading co-curricular music programs and whole-school music events </li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to differentiate curriculum and cater to diverse learning needs</li>

<p><strong>Salary and Conditions </strong></p>
<p>Teachers at St Dominic’s College are employed under the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023 and may attract higher levels of remuneration.</p>
<p>This leadership position attracts an additional 2-point Coordinator Allowance.</p>
<p>The salary will be reflective of NESA accreditation level and teaching experience, with an estimated annual salary between $115 889 and $157 237</p>
