<p>Fixed-term (4-year contract with annual reviews)</p>
<p>Full-Time (0.5 FTE – co-curricular involvement by negotiation + 0.5 FTE teaching)</p>

The Geelong College invites applications from experienced boarding leaders who are committed to the wellbeing, growth and development of boys in a residential school environment.</p>
<p>The Head of Mackie House (Boarding) provides leadership, management and administration of the Mackie House boarding community and plays a central role in the pastoral care, daily life, and holistic development of male boarders.</p>
<p>The position requires a leader who can foster a culture where students flourish, maintain strong relationships with staff and families, and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the House. The successful applicant will work closely with key College leaders and staff across academic, wellbeing, co-curricular and operational areas.</p>
<p><br><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong></p>
<p>Applicants must demonstrate the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>Relevant educational qualification and experience gained in a similar role</li>
<li>A proven understanding of the complex operations and interactions of an independent school</li>
<li>Experience working in a Boarding position in an Independent School in Australia or Overseas (desirable)</li>
<li>Demonstrated leadership of the growth and development of boys in a School setting</li>
<li>Current Victorian Institute of Teachers (VIT) registration or eligibility to obtain registration</li>
<li>Completion of the Schools Fit and Proper Person declaration</li>
<li>Have a comprehensive understanding of ‘Duty of Care’ and place a high value on Child Protection and well-being</li>
<li>Current Certifications in:
<ul>
<li>First Aid (HLTAID011)</li>
<li>CPR (HTLAID 009)</li>
<li>Asthma Management</li>
</ul></li>
<li>Completion of either:
<ul>
<li>The College's anaphylaxis training, or</li>
<li>Accredited course: 22578VIC - Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis </li>
</ul></li>
