<p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p>
<p>The Assistant Head of Department (Science) is an experienced teacher and is responsible for supporting the Head of Science with a range of duties to assist in the smooth running of the department.</p>

<p>They will support their Head of Department in the implementation of College approaches to pedagogy, assessment and reporting, with a focus on providing a holistic education and quality learning outcomes for our students. </p>

<p><strong>About you</strong></p>
<p>The successful candidate will be an energetic secondary educator who will have:</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated ability to teach Years 7 - 12 Science. </li>
<li>Demonstrate strong leadership and team leading experience to provide instructional leadership within the subject area/s, particularly
<ul>
<li>Leading the quality of curriculum development and evaluation, and course review and writing</li>
<li>Leading the quality of assessment, testing and reporting</li>
<li>Promoting and achieving high standards of student achievement</li>
<li>Developing appropriate teaching methodologies and high standards of teaching effectiveness for Department members</li>
</ul></li>
<li>Demonstrate a passion for teaching, pursuing innovative thinking and interdisciplinary learning </li>
<li>Be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience</li>
<li>Possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management skills</li>
<li>Participate in pastoral and co-curricular programs, including but not limited to school camps and excursions</li>
<li>Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare</li>
<li>Support Radford’s strategic priorities and goals</li>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Teaching qualification recognised by the Teacher Quality Institute </li>
<li>Maintain registration as a teacher with the Teacher Quality Institute, including WWVP</li>
<li>Current First Aid Certificate</li>
