Join the Mission: Change Lives at Ohana CollegeAre You the "Missing Piece" of Our Remarkable Team?

At Ohana College, we don’t just fill classrooms; we rebuild futures.

Many of our students have been told they don’t fit, that they are "too difficult," or that they’ve run out of chances. We know better. We see their potential, their talent, and their resilience. We are looking for a passionate, unshakeable Secondary English Teacher to join our brand-new, purpose-built Meadowbrook campus starting Term 3, 2026.

The Ohana Way: We Are Better Together

You won't find any "silos" here. Working with disengaged youth is deeply rewarding, but it can be demanding—and that’s why our team is our greatest asset.

No Teacher is an Island: At Ohana, you are never "left to deal with it" alone. We work shoulder-to-shoulder, sharing strategies, swapping stories, and stepping in for one another without being asked.

A High-Trust, Low-Ego Culture: We are a "fabulous" crew of experts who leave our egos at the door. We brainstorm together, debrief together, and—most importantly—laugh together.

We’ve Got Your Back: Whether it’s a tough day in the classroom or a win worth celebrating, your colleagues are your first line of support. We believe that to take care of our students, we must fiercely take care of each other.

Your Voice Matters: We operate with open communication. If you have a better way to do things, we want to hear it. We grow as a school because we listen to our people.

The Kind of Human We Are Looking For

We aren't just looking for someone who can deliver a lesson plan; we are looking for a relationship architect. You are the right fit if:

You See the Person Before the Student: You understand that a child cannot learn until they feel safe, seen, and valued.

You Are "Relentlessly Positive": You have the workplace resilience to handle challenging days with grace, knowing that a student’s "acting out" is often a cry for help.

You Lead with Empathy, Not Just Authority: You believe in restorative practices and know that respect is earned through consistency and kindness.

You Thrive in a Team: You don’t just want a job; you want a "tribe." You’re someone who contributes to a positive atmosphere and loves seeing your colleagues succeed.

Why Ohana? Because We Value Your Heart.

To support our students, our staff must be supported first. We provide a nurturing, innovative space where you are empowered:

Financial Impact: Competitive salaries + PBI Salary Packaging (Take home more, pay less tax thanks to our Charity status).

A Culture of Growth: Outstanding mentoring and endless career development opportunities.

Wellness First: Access to an amazing Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family, plus a Fitness Passport.

The Environment: A brand-new campus with free onsite parking and a highly skilled management team that actually cares about your work-life balance.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

Full or Provisional QCT Registration (Essential).

A deep-seated passion for working with at-risk youth and students with disabilities.

A "can-do" attitude toward the NCCD/EAP process (we will teach you if you're willing to learn!).

The ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain a sense of humor when things get "real."

Ready to Make a Real Difference?

This is a permanent, full-time role (5 days per week, 8:00 am – 3:36 pm). You will have 20 contact hours and 15 hours dedicated to the vital work of planning, meeting, and collaborating with your team.

How to Apply: Submit your resume and a cover letter that tells us why you want to work with disengaged youth and how you contribute to a winning team environment. Address the selection criteria by showing us your heart as well as your experience.
