This role partners with secondary school leaders and teachers to strengthen student learning in mathematics across their network and Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS). It supports middle leaders to implement, monitor and evaluate SCS's teaching and learning strategy, providing high-quality professional learning, coaching, observation and feedback. The role also drives school improvement, builds staff capacity and scales effective teaching practices across the system. <br><br>
Key responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>partnering with secondary school leaders and teachers to drive excellent mathematics learning outcomes across the network</li>
<li>leading the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of school and network improvement plans, ensuring alignment with SCS frameworks and NESA requirements</li>
<li>working with Curriculum Specialists to translate research evidence into practice and share emerging approaches across SCS</li>
<li>delivering high-quality professional learning, coaching and pedagogical leadership to build capability in teaching and learning</li>
<li>engaging the expertise of the Education and Research Directorate to support schools and strengthen system-wide practice</li>
<li>contributing to the development and execution of SCS strategies and the SCS Strategic Plan, collaborating with key stakeholders to meet organisational needs</li>
<li>promoting and upholding SCS's mission, vision, values, and child-safe practices, ensuring all concerns are reported appropriately.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About You</strong><br><br>
The successful candidate will also possess the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>a postgraduate qualification in Education or a related discipline, with at least five years' leadership experience focused on research-informed educational practice</li>
<li>demonstrated expertise in leading multi-disciplinary teams and delivering high-quality professional learning in mathematics, including coaching, observation and feedback</li>
<li>strong technical proficiency and high-level written, oral and presentation skills</li>
<li>a deep understanding of contemporary educational trends in local and international contexts and the ability to apply these to strengthen mathematics teaching and learning across schools and the system</li>
<li>demonstrated capability aligned with the Proficient Teacher Standards and performs at a Highly Accomplished/Lead Teacher level in line with NESA expectations</li>
<li>a willingness to respect, support, and uphold the mission, ethos, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of SCS.</li>
</ul>
<p>Desirable:</p>
<ul>
<li>experience in a similar position</li>
<li>demonstrated innovation in an educational facility</li>
<li>knowledge of Catholic Systemic Schools/Systems</li>
<li>a current drivers license and access to a car.</li>
