Orana Steiner School is seeking an experienced primary teacher to join our dedicated primary teaching team for a 12-month temporary full-time appointment, commencing 20 July 2026 (Term 3) to cover Parental Leave. <p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p>
<p>As a valued staff member at Orana, you will contribute to the community as a member of an educationally focused team that ignites a life-long passion for learning within our students through academic, practical and creative experiences. You will be supported to grow and develop your own teaching through ongoing professional learning activities as well as mentoring through Orana’s College of Teachers.</p>

<p><strong>Remuneration</strong></p>
<p>This is a temporary (12 months), full-time (35 hours per week) role. The salary and conditions of employment are determined by the <i>Independent Schools ACT (Teachers) Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025.</i></p>
<p>Indicative gross annual salary range $96,334 ~ $136,522, subject to TQI qualification and number of years of experience. Additionally, there is a 12% Superannuation as per SGC requirements.</p>
<p><strong>Key Accountabilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Teach Orana Steiner’s curriculum in the Primary School as the need arises.</li>
<li>Oversee the supervision and behaviour management of the class in accordance with Orana Steiner’s Student Behaviour Policies.</li>
<li>Provide assessment and reporting for students.</li>
<li>Provide written documentation of programs and evaluation of the semester’s work with the classes to the Faculty head.</li>
<li>Perform administrative tasks associated with the position.</li>
<li>Advise on and order suitable teaching resources.</li>
<li>Attend pro-rata staff and faculty meetings.</li>
<li>Contribute to the pastoral care of students.</li>
<li>Meet Health and Safety standards.</li>
<li>Participate in activities outside of core teaching hours as required and perform pro rata duties as allocated by the Faculty Head.</li>

<p>The successful candidate/s will require:</p>
<ul>
<li>Formal teaching qualifications and Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration for an immediate start of duties.</li>
<li>Primary teaching experience preferably across a range of classes.</li>
<li>Understanding of the Steiner curriculum is highly desirable.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young people.</li>
<li>Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team setting.</li>
<li>A willingness to implement, support and promote the School’s Steiner ethos.</li>
<li>A strong commitment to student wellbeing.</li>
<li>A willingness to be involved in the wider life of the School.</li>
<li>Understanding of the Australian Curriculum.</li>
<li>Flexible, adaptable, highly organised, and enthusiastic about the Steiner curriculum.</li>
<li>Extremely reliable with their attendance for this position to be successful. </li>
<li>Positive attitude towards children and a love of teaching.</li>
<li>Commitment to further personal development through Anthroposophical study and artistic activity.</li>
<li>A willingness and ability to adopt Anthroposophical principles in the curriculum.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Legal Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Current ACT TQI Registration.</li>
<li>Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.</li>
<li>Eligibility for unrestricted long-term work in Australia (Citizen or Permanent Resident).</li>
</ul>

While Steiner experience or qualifications are not essential, a willingness to learn is required. Support and guidance will be provided to successful candidates without a Steiner background.</p>
