<p>Strathcona Girls Grammar invites applications from an experienced and collaborative professional to lead the operation of our Science laboratories and support our growing focus on STEM innovation.</p>
<p>This role plays a central part in enabling high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring that practical programs are safe, well-prepared, and engaging for students. As Science and STEM Laboratory Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Science, teaching staff and key stakeholders to support inquiry-based learning and the integration of emerging technologies into the curriculum.</p>
<p><strong>About the role</strong></p>
<p>Reporting to the Head of Science, you will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead the daily operations of the Science laboratories, ensuring they are safe, organised, and responsive to curriculum needs.</li>
<li>Coordinate laboratory workflows, manage priorities, and supervise laboratory technicians.</li>
<li>Support teaching staff with preparation and delivery of practical classes, demonstrations, and investigations.</li>
<li>Assist with integrating STEM technologies such as robotics, data loggers, simulation software, and emerging tools into the curriculum.</li>
<li>Manage laboratory resources, equipment, and budgets, including stock control and procurement.</li>
<li>Maintain safe, compliant laboratory environments and oversee safety documentation and procedures.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About you</strong></p>
<p>You will bring:</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating in a laboratory or similar environment.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of laboratory safety, chemical handling, and compliance requirements.</li>
<li>Experience supporting Science or STEM learning, including educational technologies.</li>
<li>Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.</li>
<li>Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>A collaborative, solution-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Relevant qualifications in Science, Laboratory Science or a related discipline.</li>
