<p>Koonwarra Village School (KVS) is an independent primary school offering enrolment for children in Foundation to Grade 6.&nbsp;</p> <p>Our philosophy and guiding principles inform how we go about our teaching and learning and we invite you to view our website: koonwarravillageschool.org to find out more about our approach, the position description and details about the application process.</p> <p>We are a passionate team working closely together to provide a human-scale, relational and holistic school life that inspires a life-long love of learning for students and staff alike.&nbsp;</p> <p>Exciting opportunity is available for an innovative educator for a teaching role at Koonwarra Village School (KVS):</p> <ul> <li><strong>&nbsp;Mentor (Full time role)</strong></li> </ul> <p><strong>Triskelion (Years 2-6)</strong></p> <p>The <i>teaching role</i> will oversee the academic, social and emotional development of students working from year 2 to year 6.</p> <p>Koonwarra Village School approaches learning by supporting the development of independence, decision-making and self-regulation.</p> <p>We are looking for a creative, energetic and proactive professional to work alongside our children in a flexible and responsive learning environment.</p> <p>It is expected that Mentors will be able to work both independently and collaboratively within the bounds of the School's Guiding Principles and policies and actively contribute to creating an effective school culture and be a positive role-model within the school community.</p> <p><strong>Skills and experience</strong></p> <p>We are looking for educators with the following strengths:</p> <ul> <li>Educators who care passionately about democratic education models and social emotional learning, and</li> <li>Educators who are self-motivated, adaptive, adventurous, resilient and playful.</li> </ul> <p>Alongside these qualities, you will also need:</p> <ul> <li>Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (or another State/Territory equivalent body).</li> <li>A Bachelor Degree or higher in Early Childhood and/or Primary/Secondary Education.</li> <li>Ability and keen desire to teach in an alternative or holistic school setting.</li> <li>A deep respect for all children and a clear personal teaching philosophy that matches with the Philosophy and Guiding Principles of Koonwarra Village School.</li> <li>A passion for life-long learning, a demonstrated growth mindset and well developed executive skills.</li> </ul> <p>We expect people to come to us with a thirst for their own learning, and the ability to be flexible and highly adaptive to new situations and challenges.
