<p><strong>HSIE Teacher (Maternity Leave Position)</strong></p> <p><strong>St Mary &amp; St Mina's Coptic Orthodox College – Rockdale, NSW</strong><br><strong>Commencing Term 3, 2026 (12-Month Temporary Contract)</strong><br><strong>Closing Date: Friday 26th June 2026</strong></p> <p>St Mary &amp; St Mina's Coptic Orthodox College is an independent co-educational K–12 Christian school committed to providing high-quality education grounded in the values and teachings of the Coptic Orthodox faith. We strive to develop students who are spiritually grounded, intellectually curious, and socially responsible.</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced and passionate HSIE Teacher to join our dedicated team for a <strong>12-month maternity leave position, commencing in Term 3, 2026.</strong> The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic educator who fosters academic excellence, demonstrates a passion for teaching and learning, and is committed to supporting students in achieving their full potential.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching HSIE subjects, with a particular focus on Stage 6 Business Studies.</p> <p>The successful candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching and learning experiences across HSIE subjects.</li> <li>Demonstrate a strong ability to teach Stage 6 Business Studies.</li> <li>Plan, prepare, assess, and report on student learning in accordance with NESA requirements.</li> <li>Apply effective classroom management strategies to foster a positive and productive learning environment.</li> <li>Use data-informed practices to enhance student learning outcomes.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with colleagues to support faculty initiatives and whole-school programs.</li> <li>Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.</li> <li>Model a strong commitment to the Christian ethos and Coptic Orthodox values of the College.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></p> <p>Applicants should address the following criteria in their written response (maximum two pages):</p> <ol> <li>Proven experience teaching Stage 6 Business Studies, with demonstrated student success.</li> <li>Comprehensive knowledge, ability to program units of work and familiarity with the new NESA HSIE Stage 6 syllabus.</li> <li>Confidence in understanding and applying the NESA ACE Manual and its requirements.</li> <li>Capacity to use data-informed practices to enhance student learning outcomes.</li> <li>Demonstrated effective classroom management and the ability to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.</li> <li>Commitment to professional learning, reflective teaching practice, and collaboration with colleagues.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.</li> <li>Capacity to uphold and promote the Christian ethos and Coptic Orthodox values of the College in all aspects of school life.</li> </ol> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>A recognised teaching qualification and current NESA accreditation.</li> <li>Minimum Proficient Teacher NESA accreditation.</li> <li>Experience teaching HSIE subjects, particularly Stage 6 Business Studies.</li> <li>Current and valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application Requirements</strong></p> <p>Applicants are asked to include the following in their submission:</p> <ul> <li>Cover letter outlining your interest in the role.</li> <li>Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing teaching and other relevant experience.</li> <li>A statement of educational philosophy (1 page).</li> <li>A written response to the Key Selection Criteria (maximum 2 pages).</li> <li>NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) details.</li> </ul>
