<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Swimming Coach to join our Sport Department. This role supports the delivery of the St Peters Western Swim programs for junior and senior squads, contributing to the efficient and effective operation of both school and club swimming programs. The Assistant Swimming Coach plays a key role in preparing students for AIC, QGSSSA, and club competitions while fostering a positive, inclusive and high‑performance training environment aligned with the College’s Christian ethos.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Assist in the delivery of school and club swimming programs for junior and senior squads.</li>
<li>Provide high-quality coaching with a focus on technique development, stroke correction and skill improvement.</li>
<li>Support the preparation and selection of swimmers for AIC, QGSSSA and other school and club competitions.</li>
<li>Foster a positive, safe and inclusive training environment that supports student wellbeing and performance.</li>
<li>Attend and support training sessions, competitions, camps and carnivals as required.</li>
<li>Contribute to the effective operation of the swimming program, including record‑keeping, reporting and adherence to College policies and child safety requirements.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>SWIM Australia Foundation Coach accreditation and demonstrated experience in coaching swimmers in both school and club environments</li>
<li>Comprehensive knowledge of competitive swimming, including stroke mechanics, starts, turns and finishes.</li>
<li>Experience preparing swimmers for school and club competitions, including pathways to State and National level performance.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with students, parents, staff and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.</li>
