<p><strong>12 month fixed term contract</strong></p> <p><i>0.73 FTE - Monday to Friday - 9:00am to 3:00pm</i></p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The Learning Support Officer (LSO) works under the direction of the classroom teacher and leadership team to provide educational, behavioural, and social-emotional support for students with diverse learning needs. The LSO plays a vital role in fostering inclusion, engagement, and wellbeing, contributing to a positive and safe learning environment for all.</p> <p><strong>Some of the Key Responsibilities of this role will include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>&nbsp; <ul> <li>&nbsp; <ul> <li>Assist the classroom teacher in implementing Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs) and adjustments for students with additional needs.</li> <li>Support students’ participation in classroom activities, both individually and in small groups.</li> <li>Implement specific learning, communication, or behaviour strategies as directed by teachers, specialists, or wellbeing staff.</li> <li>Provide supervision and assistance during transitions, playground duty, or specialist sessions as required.</li> <li>Help prepare and adapt classroom materials or resources to suit individual learning needs.</li> <li>Observe and record student progress or behaviours as directed, providing feedback to the teacher.</li> <li>Promote student independence, self-regulation, and confidence through supportive interactions.</li> <li>Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity and privacy of students and families.</li> <li>Participate in relevant professional learning to support school priorities, such as Structured Literacy, School Wide Positive Behaviour Support and Child Safety.</li> <li>Participate in relevant professional learning to support school priorities, such as Structured Literacy, School Wide Positive Behaviour Support and Child Safety.</li> </ul></li> </ul></li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety, wellbeing and protection of children;</li> <li>Prior experience in an education setting working with children or young people is desirable;</li> <li>A collegial and collaborative approach to engaging with others;</li> </ul> <p>Applicants will be required to submit:</p> <ul> <li>Cover letter</li> <li>Resume</li> <li>Response addressing the Key Selection Criteria (no more than two pages long)</li> </ul> <p><strong>For a confidential discussion about the role contact:&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Emily Clarke (Principal) on: 5331 1816&nbsp;</p> <p>Applications close Wednesday May 20th at 5pm</p> <p>St Alipius Parish School is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all children.
