Teams collaborate to strengthen a culture of continuous growth, reflecting our commitment to lifelong learning for all members of our community.</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wellbeing Support Officer to join our Wellbeing Team.</p> <p><strong>&nbsp;About the Role</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong>Working closely with counsellors and wellbeing leaders, this role supports students experiencing emotional distress, assists with triage and referrals, and oversees the calming and regulation space known as&nbsp;<i>‘The Space’</i>.</p> <p>While this is not a counselling position, the role plays a critical part in supporting student wellbeing through calm presence, low‑level regulation strategies, sound judgement and effective administration.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Welcoming and supporting students presenting to the Wellbeing Hub.</li> <li>Acting as an initial point of contact for wellbeing enquiries from students, families and staff.</li> <li>Assisting with preliminary triage and timely referral to counsellors and relevant leaders.</li> <li>Supervising and maintaining&nbsp;<i>‘The Space’ </i>to ensure safe and appropriate use.</li> <li>Maintaining accurate records, appointments and documentation.</li> <li>Working collaboratively with counsellors, wellbeing staff and school leaders.</li> <li>Upholding confidentiality, professional boundaries and ethical practice.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About you</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong>The successful candidate will demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>A calm, welcoming and compassionate approach to supporting distressed students.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.</li> <li>Sound judgement and the ability to assess need and escalate concerns appropriately.</li> <li>Confidence using Microsoft Office and secure record‑keeping systems.</li> <li>Ability to work effectively with diverse and neurodiverse students.</li> <li>Commitment to the Vision, Mission and values of John Paul College.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Mental Health First Aid or equivalent.</li> <li>First Aid and CPR certification.</li> <li>Training in Trauma Informed Practice and suicide Prevention awareness.</li> <li>Experience in student support, wellbeing services or school based administration.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join John Paul College:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Be part of a supportive and dynamic educational community.</li> <li>Opportunities for professional development.</li> <li>A collaborative work environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Position Details:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Part-time (working 8.00am to 3.30pm three days per week), ongoing position</li> <li>Commencing as soon as possible</li> <li>Category B, Education Support Employee under the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application will close:</strong></p> <p>Friday 17 April at 4.00pm.
