<p><strong>About You</strong><br><br>
The<strong> Instructional Specialist</strong> is a promotional role, temporary for 12 months. Your promotional role will entail 0.4 FTE release time and will be to model classroom practitioner excellence, improve learning outcomes and bring about change in the instruction of teachers K-6.<br><br>
You'll bring:</p>
<ul>
<li>strong teaching capability proven through meeting all aspects of the proficient teacher in the Australian Professional Standards and operating at the level of a highly accomplished/lead teacher in accordance with the NESA teaching standards (although they may not formally hold this accreditation)</li>
<li>exemplary classroom teaching practice in their own classroom teaching</li>
<li>capacity to set standards, build teacher capacity (with extra focus on early career teachers) and support school wide improvement</li>
<li>high impact teaching strategies (HITS) used by teachers to craft lessons that provide the right amount of support and challenge for every student</li>
<li>understanding and implement high quality, evidence-based instruction that meets students' needs within their zone of proximal learning development and has clear SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-based) goals</li>
<li>ability to coach, mentor and model excellent teaching practice to peer teachers within the school in the instruction</li>
<li>ability to analyse data and trends within the school to identify areas for growth</li>
<li>strong capabilities to lead adult learning (including emotional intelligence)</li>
<li>ability to develop future Instructional Specialists</li>
<li>capacity to perform any other duties as directed from time to time</li>
<li>a tertiary qualification in Education and NESA accreditation</li>
<li>Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/policies/accreditation-policy-to-work-teach-and-lead-in-sydney-catholic-schools"><strong>Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead</strong>.</a></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>You will have attained:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a school</li>
<li>experience in leading staff in professional learning</li>
<li>demonstrated success improving student outcomes and implementing school wide initiatives</li>
<li>experienced in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives</li>
<li>ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in both local and international contexts</li>
<li>willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.</li>
