<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Financial Controller: School Operations</strong><br><strong>1.0 FTE Ongoing</strong></p> <p>Catholic Education Tasmania is seeking a Financial Controller – Schools Operations to support the Head of Finance: Schools Operations in delivering strong financial stewardship, governance, and operational finance leadership across all CET schools.</p> <p>This is a senior opportunity to contribute directly to the financial sustainability and strategic direction of schools, while leading consistent, best‑practice financial management and supporting system‑wide reform and transformation initiatives.</p> <p><strong>As a key member of the Schools Operations Finance team, you will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead consistent, accurate, and compliant financial operations across CET schools.</li> <li>Support school budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring.</li> <li>Ensure strong governance through effective financial controls, delegations, and risk management.</li> <li>Oversee school financial reporting cycles and contribute to system‑level dashboards and reporting.</li> <li>Coordinate audit processes and ensure compliance with AASB, ACNC, and CET requirements.</li> <li>Provide leadership to school-facing finance teams and support Business Managers.</li> <li>Build a high‑performance culture focused on capability development and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Support system‑wide financial reform, sustainability initiatives, and strategic planning.</li> <li>Champion alignment, simplification, and best‑practice financial management across schools.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <ul> <li>You are committed to the mission and values of Catholic Education Tasmania and understand the importance of stewardship, service, and sustainability in supporting educational excellence.</li> <li>You are an empathetic and strategic finance leader who values collaboration with school leaders and system partners.</li> <li>You bring a systems mindset and are motivated to contribute to continuous improvement and reform in a complex, multi‑site environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You Will Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated expertise in school or multi‑site financial operations and reporting.</li> <li>Proven experience leading finance teams and supporting diverse stakeholders.</li> <li>Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and financial reporting capability.</li> <li>High‑level communication and relationship‑building skills.</li> <li>The ability to lead change and support system transformation through practical, solutions‑focused leadership.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <p><strong>Required</strong></p> <ul> <li>Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance.</li> <li>CA or CPA membership (or working towards).</li> <li>Accreditation A to work in Catholic Education.</li> <li>Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP).</li> <li>Satisfactory National Police Check.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in school finance, not‑for‑profit, or public sector environments.</li> <li>Strong understanding of AASB and ACNC standards and funding compliance.</li> <li>Experience using TechnologyOne or similar ERP systems.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p> <p><strong>You will be part of a values‑driven organisation committed to:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong governance and stewardship in service of student learning.</li> <li>A mission grounded in Catholic values, integrity, and community.</li> <li>A shared vision for sustainability and continuous improvement across all schools.</li> <li>A collaborative and respectful culture focused on service excellence.</li> <li>Meaningful partnerships across schools, families, parishes, and the wider community.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Apply Now</strong></p> <p>If you see yourself as our next Financial Controller – Schools Operations, we’d love to hear from you.
