<p>The Headmaster seeks to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced Christian educator who demonstrates a commitment to their Christian faith, as evidenced by regular attendance and involvement at a Church, to this full-time, permanent leadership position. The successful candidate will join and lead the highly professional, dynamic, and industrious History Faculty. The successful applicant must demonstrate a deep understanding of the History syllabus documents across all secondary stages.</p> <p>The staff of Macarthur are beneficiaries of an Apple laptop computer (for the duration of employment), a supportive Christian teaching environment and well-resourced facilities.</p> <p>Candidates for this role will be required to demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>an ability to lead staff in pedagogical and professional learning and improvement;</li> <li>strong communication, organisational and professional standards;</li> <li>a passion for teaching and a deep knowledge of the syllabus content, including the recent revisions to the syllabus;</li> <li>a passion for either Modern or Ancient History and how it integrates with other subjects;</li> <li>an innovative approach to teaching and learning, including classroom differentiation;&nbsp;</li> <li>a desire to plan and plan and/or lead the biennial European History Study tour; and,</li> <li>a commitment to detailed and timely feedback to students and a deep understanding of how students think and learn.</li> </ul> <p>The successful candidate must also demonstrate innovative use of ICT in teaching and learning, proficiency in writing teaching programmes, and an understanding of best practices in student assessment and feedback.
