We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to work as a member of our collaborative Finance and Business Services team. This role is solely responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of fortnightly payroll for a workforce of over 160 staff whilst supporting some of the wider Finance team functions as and when required.<br><br>
This position is suited to a payroll professional with a minimum of five years' experience, ideally within the education sector or a related field, who thrives in a team environment while confidently managing end-to-end payroll processes independently. It presents a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and collaborative Finance team, where your analytical skills, expertise, and attention to detail will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll and broader financial processes.<br><br><br><br><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum of five years' experience in a payroll position, preferably within the education sector or a related field, with demonstrated experience using MicrOpay and familiarity with ConnX highly regarded.</li>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualification desirable.</li>
<li>Ability to interpret complex agreements and relevant legislation with a strong understanding of payroll procedures and process.</li>
<li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), with a particular strength in Excel.</li>
<li>Demonstrated commitment to the accurate and timely completion of fortnightly payroll.</li>
<li>Experience in payroll reporting, data analysis, and audit support, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Proven ability to provide accurate, timely, and confidential payroll support to employees and external stakeholders, with a strong customer service focus.</li>
<li>Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work autonomously and effectively convey information to a range of staff.</li>
<li>Proven organisational and planning skills.</li>
<li>Capacity to actively support the life, Catholic mission and Mercy values of the College.</li>
<li>Compliance with relevant Workplace Health & Safety requirements</li>
<li>Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)</li>
