A Reception to Year 12 Catholic Dominican College in the heart of Adelaide, we provide a nurturing, purpose-driven education where every student is seen and supported to grow into their full potential.

Founded in 1869 by seven Dominican Sisters from Dublin, St Mary’s College was established with courage and conviction at a time when educational opportunities for girls were limited. The Sisters challenged accepted norms, creating a College where no subject or aspiration was considered beyond reach for young women.

While we are steeped in tradition, we are not traditional. We understand the challenges and opportunities facing girls today and intentionally design learning environments that empower students to find their voice - and to use it. Girls at St Mary’s are encouraged to become confident and courageous learners - unafraid to lead, challenge norms, and speak up for what matters.

Guided by the Dominican tenet of Veritas (truth), our values of Community, Justice and Growth shape every aspect of College life. These values are lived daily through respectful relationships, meaningful learning experiences, and a deep commitment to student wellbeing. Our Justice initiatives connects classroom learning with Gospel action, supporting students to develop a lifelong commitment to service and social responsibility.

Our size allows us to personalise learning and meet the unique needs of each student. Wellbeing sits at the centre of learning, recognising that students learn best when they feel safe and supported. Restorative practices and our weekly WRAP program (Wellbeing, Relationships, Agency and Personal Responsibility) are embedded within the curriculum to strengthen emotional literacy and resilience.

Our single-campus CBD location provides easy access to public transport and authentic learning beyond the classroom through partnerships with universities, cultural institutions and industry. A strong sense of belonging is fostered across year levels, with multiple leadership opportunities available from Reception to Year 12.

The College supports a wide range of pathways and offers extensive co-curricular opportunities across sport, music and the arts. Graduates of St Mary’s College leave as confident young women, grounded in values and ready to contribute with purpose.

St Mary’s College is an educational ministry of Dominican Education Australia (DEA) and part of Catholic Education South Australia (CESA).

Safeguarding Commitment - St Mary’s College is actively committed to fostering communities of safeguarding that recognise and uphold the dignity and rights of all children and young people. The College maintains zero tolerance for harm of any kind.

Application process

Clich here to view the Position Information Document (PID)

Applications should be addressed to:

Heidi Senior
Principal
St Mary’s College

Applications should be emailed to Human Resources Manager, Emily Semple at recruitment@stmarys.sa.edu.au

Applications should include the following:

Cover letter addressing the key criteria in the PID

Current Resume including three (3) referees relevant to the position.

Completed CESA Employment Declaration.

Applications Close: Monday 6 April at 9:00am - Early submissions are encouraged, as interviews may occur before the close off date.
