<p><strong>Psychologist- St Francis Flexible School -Hobart Campus</strong></p> <ul> <li><i><strong>Ongoing, Full-Time&nbsp;</strong></i></li> <li><i><strong>Start date to be negotiated with successful applicant</strong></i></li> </ul> <p>St Francis Flexible School is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition. Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd&nbsp;currently&nbsp;educates over 2,400 young people in 22&nbsp;Flexible Schools (13&nbsp;based in Queensland and&nbsp;9&nbsp;other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in&nbsp;NSW, with approximately 700 staff nationally. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational,&nbsp;social&nbsp;or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through&nbsp;a methodology&nbsp;based on trauma informed practice,&nbsp;to co-create a&nbsp;Common Ground&nbsp;using&nbsp;Operation by Principles, in which the principles of&nbsp;Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe &amp; Legal are embedded.&nbsp;Our special schools serve young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><br><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Psychologist to join our team, working at our Hobart campus, commencing as soon as possible</p> <ul> <li>You will be employed on an ongoing basis, and you will be employed under the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.&nbsp; Salary will depend on qualifications and experience plus $5,000 Hard to Staff Allowance.</li> </ul> <p>The&nbsp;Psychologist&nbsp;is responsible for&nbsp;young person and&nbsp;adolescent psychologist services&nbsp;and acts under the direction of&nbsp;Principal via the Head of Campus. This position&nbsp;facilitates&nbsp;access, participation and to maximise educational outcomes for&nbsp;young people, and utilises psychological&nbsp;expertise&nbsp;in education and learning to support and build the capacity of the&nbsp;school&nbsp;toward the same goals.&nbsp;</p> <p>This role will work&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;Wellbeing&nbsp;Team&nbsp;and other teams&nbsp;to&nbsp;develop programs at the school&nbsp;as directed.&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Undertake&nbsp;assessment&nbsp;of&nbsp;psychological&nbsp;disorders&nbsp;involving&nbsp;clinical&nbsp;measures,&nbsp;clinical interview skills,&nbsp;observations&nbsp;and information from other sources.</li> <li>Provide expert knowledge and understanding of mental health disorders and their relationship to child and adolescent development.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide&nbsp;evidence-based&nbsp;psychological&nbsp;counselling,&nbsp;therapy&nbsp;and&nbsp;programs&nbsp;for individuals and groups for a range of mental health, emotional and family issues.&nbsp;</li> <li>Liaise&nbsp;with&nbsp;caregivers,&nbsp;staff&nbsp;and&nbsp;external&nbsp;professionals/agencies&nbsp;as&nbsp;required&nbsp;to&nbsp;ensure&nbsp;care of students and&nbsp;appropriate case&nbsp;management.&nbsp;</li> <li>Respond to referrals from&nbsp;caregivers&nbsp;and members of staff and determine&nbsp;appropriate&nbsp;intervention.&nbsp;</li> <li>Communicate&nbsp;young person&nbsp;needs&nbsp;and&nbsp;case&nbsp;plans&nbsp;as&nbsp;required&nbsp;to&nbsp;caregivers&nbsp;and&nbsp;relevant&nbsp;staff.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assist&nbsp;staff in the development and implementation of programs addressing student wellbeing needs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Respond&nbsp;to&nbsp;crisis&nbsp;situations&nbsp;and&nbsp;provide&nbsp;appropriate&nbsp;support&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;school.&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain adequate and confidential case notes and student files&nbsp;in accordance with&nbsp;APS Guidelines&nbsp;</li> <li>Attend&nbsp;Support/Wellbeing&nbsp;Team&nbsp;and&nbsp;Young person Wellbeing&nbsp;meetings.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><br><strong>For <p><strong>ESSENTIAL:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or able to obtain)</li> <li>Current driver’s licence (essential)&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>HIGHLY DESIRABLE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Understanding of and commitment to the&nbsp;values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Proven senior leadership experience, both strategic and&nbsp;operational, characterised by strong&nbsp;organisational, administrative, communication, and leadership skills,&nbsp;particularly in relation to areas outlined in this position.&nbsp;</li> <li>Able to&nbsp;demonstrate&nbsp;the high-level communication,&nbsp;collaboration&nbsp;and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the provision of child and adolescent psychological assessment,&nbsp;diagnosis&nbsp;and development services,&nbsp;in particular autism.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the provision of evidence-based psychological counselling and therapy and the development and facilitation of programs to support the wellbeing of&nbsp;young people&nbsp;</li> <li>Proven ability to plan and deliver evidence-based interventions in collaboration with students, parents,&nbsp;staff&nbsp;and other relevant professionals.&nbsp;</li> <li>Proven ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations, undertake risk assessments, develop safety&nbsp;plans&nbsp;and provide support to the College community.&nbsp;</li> <li>Proven ability to relate to students, parents, schools and other relevant professionals and sound oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Personal skills of self-direction, initiative and flexibility and the ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.&nbsp;</li> <li>A good knowledge and understanding of the diversity of the student population and school community and response to systemic needs including staff development, supportive school community&nbsp;strategies&nbsp;and initiatives.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to liaise with external services providers where necessary.&nbsp;</li> <li>Registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Psychology Board of Australia.&nbsp;</li> <li>Recognised tertiary qualifications in Psychology.&nbsp;</li> <li>Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Employment category).&nbsp;</li> <li>Current National Police Check (issued within the last 6
