Marian Catholic College is seeking a capable and proactive Receptionist / Student Receptionist to join our welcoming school community to cover multiple blocks of staff leave, with the opportunity for ongoing casual work. This is a hands-on, front office role where no two days are the same. You will support students, staff and families as the first point of contact, manage sick bay as the primary first aider, and maintain accurate student records using Compass. The role will require you to work across both Receptionist and Student Receptionist functions. Due to the nature of this role, prior Compass experience (including managing attendance inconsistencies) and a current First Aid certificate are essential, along with the ability to work confidently and independently in a fast-paced environment.

<p><strong>About the Opportunity</strong></p> <p>Marian Catholic College is seeking applicants for a <strong>Temporary Receptionist / Student Receptionist</strong> role to cover upcoming staff leave, with the opportunity for ongoing casual work.</p> <p>The initial block of leave will be working Mondays and Tuesdays from Monday 4 May 2026 to Tuesday 2 June 2026, from 8:30am to 3:00pm (12 hours per week), covering the Receptionist role.</p> <p>A second block of leave will be required from 14 September 2026 to 16 December 2026, working Monday to Wednesday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, covering the Student Receptionist role.</p> <p>This is a front-facing role within a welcoming school community, providing high-level front office support to students, staff and families in a fast-paced school environment. While the Receptionist and Student Receptionist roles have some differences, there is overlap, and the successful applicant will be required to work across both areas.</p> <p>Availability to work across both leave blocks and provide additional relief coverage throughout the year will be highly regarded. For the right candidate, there may also be additional casual or temporary relief opportunities throughout the year.</p> <p>This role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion and the ability to exercise sound judgement in a dynamic school setting.</p> <p>This position is accountable for a wide range of professional support, administration, secretarial and clerical duties, including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>reception duties (responding to email and phone enquiries from parents, staff, the general public and students)</li> <li>acting as the primary first aider and managing sick bay</li> <li>assisting with student enrolments</li> <li>maintaining student records and database information</li> <li>photocopying and general administrative support</li> </ul> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>You will demonstrate alignment with the core purpose and values of Marian Catholic College along with:</p> <ul> <li>the ability to multitask in a busy office environment, often dealing with students, visitors, phones and staff simultaneously</li> <li>proven ability and confidence to act as the primary first aider in a variety of situations</li> <li>the ability to listen and communicate with empathy and compassion</li> <li>professionalism and patience at all times</li> <li>initiative and a proactive approach to supporting team members</li> <li>the ability to quickly adapt and respond to the needs of the school</li> <li>strong IT skills</li> <li>excellent written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>strong attention to detail</li> <li>flexibility in undertaking a range of duties as required</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience and Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>valid Working with Children Check clearance (essential)</li> <li>current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate and demonstrated first aid experience (essential)</li> <li>demonstrated experience using Compass (Student Database) is essential – applicants must already be trained and confident in its use, including entering sick bay chronicles, signing students in/out and managing attendance inconsistencies without supervision</li> <li>experience with the following essential: <ul> <li>Google applications (Gmail, Docs, Sheets)</li> <li>Google Drive</li> </ul></li> <li>experience and/or training in the following is highly desirable but not essential: <ul> <li>Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)</li> <li>TechOne</li> <li>Matthew</li> <li>Edval</li> </ul></li> <li>tertiary qualifications in administration (highly desirable)</li> </ul> <p>Only applicants with relevant experience and demonstrated proficiency in Compass will be considered.</p> <p><strong>About Us</strong></p> <p>Marian Catholic College Kenthurst is a caring community with a family atmosphere linking parents, students and staff.
