This full-time role (Initial 12‑month contract with the possibility of extension) involves teaching <strong>QCE General Mathematics a</strong>s well as Years 7 to 10 Mathematics. The ability to teach or have knowledge of the QCE Mathematical Methods syllabus would be an advantage.</p> <p>Applicants need to demonstrate a strong dedication to a Catholic Classical Curriculum pedagogical approach, an ability to develop and maintain positive and caring relationships with students and a willingness to contribute to the overall mission of the School, including co-curricular duties. A high degree of professionalism and ownership over one's own professional development are traits that the School is looking for in all staff members. You must hold or be willing to apply for a valid teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will:</p> <ul> <li>Teach <strong>Senior General Mathematics</strong> in accordance with <strong>QCAA requirements</strong>, including participation in the <strong>Endorsement and Confirmation</strong> processes.</li> <li>Deliver and maintain a well-structured Mathematics curriculum to junior secondary students , adhering to the Australian National Curriculum.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with the Day School team to cultivate a love of learning within the framework of <strong>Classical Catholic education</strong>.</li> <li>Contribute to the intellectual and spiritual life of the school community.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>Current registration with the <strong>Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)</strong>.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in teaching <strong>QCE Senior General Mathematics and mathematical Methods</strong> and junior secondary mathematics.</li> <li>Familiarity with the <strong>QCAA’s Endorsement and Confirmation</strong> processes.</li> <li>An understanding of and commitment to <strong>Classical Catholic pedagogy</strong>.</li> <li>A willingness to support and promote the <strong>Traditional Catholic ethos</strong> of St Philomena School.</li> <li><strong>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment</strong> and contribute positively to a collegial staff culture.</li> </ul> <p>As the right candidate for this role, you are a passionate teacher with Australian Registration, or eligible for Australian Teacher Registration.&nbsp;You have extensive experience of the Australian Curriculum and ACARA standards in education and have experience of integration of a classical approach within the context of the Australian Curriculum.&nbsp;You are personally committed to the Catholic ethos of the school, and desire to work within this ethos in the distance education context.&nbsp;You are committed team player who seeks to solve difficulties and work collaboratively. You have an eye for detail but are able to focus on the big picture and set strategic priorities.
