<p><strong>About Our School</strong></p>
<p>Mount St Joseph Catholic College was opened in 1960 in answer to a desperate need for a Catholic girls’ secondary school in south-western Sydney. The spirit in which this need was met for the people living in and around Milperra was the same spirit which animated Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first saint, whose life was lived in response to the needs of her day.</p>

<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>As a <strong>Presiding Officer</strong>, you will manage the exam supervision and conduct of HSC exams at a school. Working closely with the principal and the Leader of Learning: Curriculum, a presiding officer’s duties broadly include:</p>
<ul>
<li>managing a team of supervisors</li>
<li>managing students’ exam conduct</li>
<li>working closely with the school to manage set-up of exam areas</li>
<li>must be available for the whole exam period</li>
<li>checking and organising exam materials before and after each exam</li>
<li>managing conduct of approved disability provisions for students</li>
<li>following NESA’s administrative and security procedures.</li>
</ul>
<p>You will have attained:</p>
<ul>
<li>a valid Working With Children Check clearance for employment</li>
<li>access to a vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy and current Drivers Licence</li>
<li>intermediate working knowledge of common computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, emails, downloading documents</li>
<li>strong organisation skills</li>
<li>excellent attention to detail</li>
<li>the ability to effectively manage students and a team of supervisors.</li>
</ul>
<p> To be successful you will need to be:</p>
<ul>
<li>Reliable, able to respond appropriately to student questions or concerns in a professional manner</li>
<li>Comfortable in managing confidential/sensitive information & materials securely & meeting all compliance requirements as per NESA and CCGS</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Good administrative skills, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability</li>
<li>A commitment to the strategic direction and ethos of the school </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>The Presiding Officer will need to be available to supervise the HSC Trial Examinations from 3 August to 17 August 2026 and the HSC Examinations from 13 October to 5 November 2026.</strong></p>
<p> <strong>Special Notes</strong></p>
<p>The following restrictions on eligibility for employment as a Test Supervisor exist:</p>
<ul>
<li>a person who has a child, near relative or friend sitting the 2026 Higher School Certificate Examinations cannot be appointed as Presiding Officer</li>
<li>all staff employed at MSJ Milperra cannot be appointed as Presiding Officer.</li>
