About Us

St Philomena School is a single stream P-12 independent Catholic School in Park Ridge, Queensland. Founded in 1999, St Philomena’s seeks to provide excellence in Catholic and classical education, for the love of God and learning. We value education for education’s sake, and not merely as a means to something else. A true education, while it must prepare a child for a career, must prepare them, above all, to live a truly virtuous and fully human life by nourishing a child’s soul on the good, the true and the beautiful.

That is why we embrace a traditional approach to education, with an emphasis on teacher-led, explicit learning, history and literature. We believe that the Catholic heritage of Western Civilisation synthesises the wisdom of the classical world with the illuminating truth of revelation. We seek to form character, not merely to inform intellects. We consider ourselves privileged to be called to share in the work of education, conscious that, after the gift of His well-beloved Son and the Priesthood, the greatest honour God has granted to men is to allow them to form His children.

Our work is summarised in our vision: the formation of spiritually vigorous Catholic young men and women who are intelligent, cultured, healthy, vocationally prepared, social-minded and patriotic, formed by a well-rounded education.

Job Summary

St Philomena School is seeking a part-time (0.6FTE) secondary English teacher to join its collaborative and supportive team of teaching professionals in 2026.
