St Pius X College invites an experienced and dynamic educational leader to join the Junior School Leadership Team as Assistant Head of Junior School with a particular focus on Teaching and Learning. This newly created role provides a unique opportunity to shape high-quality learning experiences across Stage 3 within a collaborative and student-focused learning community.

<p>St Pius X College is a Catholic Independent Years 5 – 12 boys’ school in the Edmund Rice Tradition and is dedicated to developing critical and creative thinkers who are resilient and passionate about learning. For staff, the College provides a supportive environment with a focus on professional learning.</p> <p>The successful applicant will:</p> <ul> <li>Have an active commitment to the Catholic ethos and the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice as articulated in the EREA Charter.</li> <li>Demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to effective child safeguarding practices, including possessing current NESA registration (or eligibility) and Working With Children Check (NSW).</li> <li>Demonstrate success in leading learning: curriculum, assessment, moderation, data-informed practice and reporting in a primary/Junior School context and support high quality teaching practice.</li> <li>Work with Leaders of Learning to review programs and deliver professional learning.</li> <li>Support the delivery of key student programs (e.g. NAPLAN, Orientation, Transition to Senior School, Peer Support).</li> <li>Have experience in leading external assessment programs (e.g., NAPLAN) and/or enrichment initiatives.</li> <li>Have proven capacity to lead staff collaboratively, build professional culture and manage change. &nbsp;</li> <li>Be able to demonstrate a willingness and ability to undertake the duties of the Head of Junior School (in cases of the Head of Junior School’s extended absence).</li> <li>Possess strong knowledge of NSW and national curriculum, contemporary evidence-based pedagogy and the diverse needs of learners.</li> <li>Demonstrate excellence as a classroom teacher.</li> <li>Differentiate learning for students with diverse abilities.</li> <li>Participate in the Pastoral Program for the well-being of all students at the College.</li> <li>Participate in&nbsp; middle leaders meetings and Junior School team meetings.</li> <li>Assist with enrolment processes for the Junior School.</li> <li>Assist with key Junior School events.</li> <li>Support the coordination of timetables, duty rosters and co-curricular programs.</li> <li>Contribute to the planning and delivery of major Junior School camps and tours.</li> <li>Support&nbsp;Junior School operational and leadership priorities, including deputising for the Head of Junior School when required.</li> <li>Have or be working towards Postgraduate study in Education, Leadership, Religious Education or a related field.</li> </ul> <p>Please visit the College website for more information and details on how to apply.</p> <ul> <li> <p><a href="https://spx.nsw.edu.au/" rel="nofollow">https://spx.nsw.edu.au</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
