Lead. Inspire. Shape a Home Away From Home.
Imagine working somewhere where purpose guides your day, community surrounds you, and every moment holds the potential to shape a young life. Welcome to St Peters Lutheran College.

Set across 52 leafy acres just 7 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, St Peters is a vibrant Co‑Educational Day and Boarding School with a long‑standing reputation for academic excellence, exceptional pastoral care and rich co‑curricular opportunities. It’s a place where young people flourish — and where dedicated staff find genuine meaning in their work.

Boarding at St Peters is more than a residential program. It is a family. A community. A home. At the heart of that home is the Boarding House Leader — a values‑driven professional who helps shape the rhythms, wellbeing and culture of daily boarding life.

If you’re energised by mentoring young people, building authentic relationships and leading a warm, purposeful residential community, this could be your ideal next step.

About the Role
As a Boarding House Leader, you’ll be the steady, supportive presence at the heart of a St Peters boarding house — shaping the culture, wellbeing and day‑to‑day experience of the young people who call it home. Working closely with the Director of Boarding, you’ll help create a community where students feel safe, connected and inspired to grow. This is more than a job; it’s a lifestyle, a calling, and a chance to walk alongside adolescents at one of the most formative times in their lives.

In this role, you will:

Guide the daily rhythms of the house, creating consistency, belonging and a sense of home.

Lead and mentor residential and tutoring staff, building a warm, professional and collaborative team culture.

Support each student’s academic, social, cultural and spiritual development, ensuring boarding enriches every part of their journey.

Build strong, trusting relationships with families, communicating with clarity, empathy and confidence.

Champion safety, wellbeing and compliance, maintaining a welcoming, well‑run and high‑standard residential environment.

You’ll also play an active role in the wider boarding community — representing St Peters at events, regional visits and engagements that showcase the strength, spirit and heart of our program.

What You Bring
You lead with authenticity — grounded in heart, integrity and Christian values. You build genuine relationships with young people, staff and families, and you communicate with clarity and compassion in ways that help others feel safe, supported and understood.

You bring experience from residential, pastoral, educational or community environments, and you’re confident navigating the complexities of a busy boarding setting with calm, confidence and sound judgement. You enjoy the energy and unpredictability of adolescent development, and you thrive in a community where no two days feel the same.

Alongside this, you will ideally bring:

A teaching or community services qualification, or significant experience in a similar youth‑focused role

Proven experience working with young people, ideally in residential or wellbeing settings

A current Queensland driver’s licence

First Aid and CPR certification (highly regarded)

Above all, you’re committed to growing — personally, professionally and spiritually — and ready to step into a role where you can make a meaningful and lasting impact.
