As such, Learning Support Assistants are responsible for creating and maintaining effective learning environments which support the learning needs of the students.</p> <p>Applications from suitably qualified Learning Support Assistants are welcome for our full-time position within our Roseby Class. Our Roseby Class caters for students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.</p> <p>Our Roseby Class students follow programs that are individually appropriate in a welcoming and encouraging classroom environment. We place strong emphasis on resilience and social skills, with girls developing the skills to help them establish independence and work-readiness.</p> <p>If you have had experience working with special needs education, we would love to hear from you.</p> <p><strong>Skills &amp; Personal Qualities</strong></p> <ul> <li>A personal Christian faith and commitment, demonstrating a commitment to Christian teaching practice.</li> <li>Ability to work with a range of people and build relationships across all areas.</li> <li>Demonstrated organisation and prioritisation skills.</li> <li>Experience in working with students with intellectual disabilities.</li> <li>Experience working with neurodiverse students.</li> <li>Excellent people skills and a strong desire to help people.</li> <li>Empathy and genuine care.</li> <li>Patience and calm under pressure.</li> <li>Clear, adaptable communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.</li> <li>Observation and data collection, attention to detail.</li> <li>Confidentiality and professionalism.</li> <li>Knowledge of safety and care procedures.</li> <li>Resilience.&nbsp;</li> <li>Positive mindset.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Essential Qualifications and Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Certificate III Educational Support or equivalent&nbsp;</li> <li>Working with Children check required.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in working with children in a special learning needs environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>General physical fitness. The role requires LSAs to attend to student needs away from the school (e.g. on camps or work experience) and some students may require physical assistance.</li> <li>Work is varied and will require walking, standing in class including kitchens, catching public transport, attending outdoor sporting events, excursions, shopping trips and camps, and some carrying (up to 5 kilos).</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>A Child-Safe Organisation</strong></p> <p>Danebank is committed to being a child-safe organisation, putting the needs and interests of our students first.
