We are seeking casual Visual Art and Design Technology Teachers to work on a casual basis.

They do this by developing and delivering academic programs through the Dalton Plan, managing the administration of student assessment and results, and marking / record keeping to a regular cycle to keep our students engaged, motivated, and able to reach their learning goals throughout the year.</p> <p>To complement this, we engage a pool of casual teachers who are experienced, subject matter and curriculum experts, and able to step in for either half / full teaching days, or short blocks as required. To this end, we are currently looking for Visual Art and Design Technology teachers to work on a casual basis throughout the academic year.</p> <p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Teach Visual Art and Design Technology to girls in years 7 to 12, and according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) curriculum and Dalton principles of responsibility, independence, collaboration and reflection</li> <li>Ensure the knowledge, understanding and success of each student</li> <li>Use an innovative curriculum via the school Learning Management System (CANVAS)&nbsp;</li> <li>Use formative and summative assessment to determine student progress&nbsp;</li> <li>Create a stimulating classroom environment where students can flourish&nbsp;</li> <li>Assist other members of the department and share resources</li> <li>Assist with the supervision of excursions after hours as required</li> <li>Other duties as directed by the Head of Visual Art and Design Technology.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Will Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>A tertiary qualification in teaching</li> <li>Visual Arts and/ or Design teaching qualifications and accreditation with&nbsp;NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</li> <li>Qualifications&nbsp;to&nbsp;teach&nbsp;Years&nbsp;7-12&nbsp;Visual Art&nbsp;and/ or&nbsp;Stage&nbsp;4&nbsp;Technology</li> <li>Knowledge&nbsp;and&nbsp;experience&nbsp;in&nbsp;working&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;NESA&nbsp;curriculum</li> <li>Strong digital&nbsp;skills ideally with photo media expertise</li> <li>Ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;differentiate&nbsp;between&nbsp;a&nbsp;diverse&nbsp;group&nbsp;of&nbsp;non-selective&nbsp;students and&nbsp;teach&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;strengths&nbsp;of&nbsp;girls</li> <li>Demonstrated&nbsp;excellence&nbsp;in&nbsp;written&nbsp;and verbal communication</li> <li>Well-developed&nbsp;interpersonal,&nbsp;time&nbsp;management&nbsp;and&nbsp;organisational skills</li> <li>Ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;work&nbsp;independently&nbsp;but&nbsp;also&nbsp;as&nbsp;part&nbsp;of&nbsp;a&nbsp;dynamic, creative&nbsp;and&nbsp;collaborative&nbsp;team</li> <li>Proven ICT&nbsp;skills&nbsp;within an&nbsp;environment&nbsp;where&nbsp;students&nbsp;bring&nbsp;a&nbsp;personal device&nbsp;to&nbsp;school</li> <li>Willingness&nbsp;to&nbsp;continue to develop&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;teacher</li> <li>A&nbsp;current&nbsp;First&nbsp;Aid&nbsp;and&nbsp;CPR&nbsp;certificate.</li> <li>A valid Working with Children clearance.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Interested?</strong></p> <p>Further information, including a position description for this role is available at https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham</p> <p>If this sounds like you, please <strong>apply via SEEK</strong> no later than <strong>11.59pm on Monday 2 March 2026. </strong>Applications should include a cover letter and resume (listing WWCC, CPR and First Aid details if available).</p> <p>We are conducting interviews for this role on a rolling basis and encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible to ensure consideration.
