Appointed and remunerated by NESA, the Presiding Officer will liaise closely with the College and is responsible for managing the preparation, conduct and supervision of the HSC exams.

<p><strong>THE ROLE</strong></p> <p>Appointed and remunerated by NESA, the Presiding Officer will liaise closely with the College and is responsible for managing the preparation, conduct and supervision of the HSC exams.</p> <p>This position is offered on a casual basis; however, due to examination dates, availability during the following periods is mandatory and non-negotiable:</p> <ul> <li>Monday 3 August – Friday 14 August 2026</li> <li>Wednesday 9 September – Tuesday 22 September 2026</li> <li>Tuesday 13 October – Thursday 5 November 2026</li> </ul> <p><strong>THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL</strong></p> <ul> <li>liaise with the principal’s delegate concerning the set-up and conduct of the exams.</li> <li>follow all directions given by NESA regarding security and administrative procedures (NESA training will be provided).</li> <li>collect exam papers from the security centre and keep them secure until the commencement of the examination.</li> <li>check and organise exam materials before and after each exam</li> <li>work closely with the school to manage the setup of exam areas</li> <li>manage a team of supervisors</li> <li>brief the supervisors before each examination to ensure they are aware of their duties and any special arrangements.</li> <li>oversee the conduct of the supervisors during the exams and the packaging of the papers at the conclusion of the examination.</li> <li>manage students’ exam conduct</li> <li>implement NESA’s policies and procedures regarding disability provisions and illness/misadventure applications.</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;THE PRESIDING OFFICER MUST</strong></p> <ul> <li>be 18 years or over.</li> <li>have a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment.</li> <li>use their own vehicle (car) with comprehensive insurance to transport exam papers.</li> <li>not have a relative (including children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or cousins) sitting the HSC exams at any school.</li> <li>not have been recently employed by the College (paid or volunteer), including, but not limited to, clerical staff, casual, relief, part-time or permanent teachers, parent volunteers, sports coaches, or board members.</li> <li>not tutor students sitting the HSC exams.</li> <li>have an email address and mobile phone and have working knowledge of common computer programs and tasks, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, emails, downloading documents etc.</li> <li>be well-organised and have good attention to detail.</li> <li>be able to effectively manage students and a team of supervisors.</li> <li>be available for the entire exam period.</li> <li>be physically able to handle heavy exam materials and stand for long periods.</li> <li>maintain confidentiality and&nbsp;comply with&nbsp;all NESA security and administrative requirements.&nbsp;</li> <li>attend required NESA or school-based training.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Reliable, punctual, and able to manage competing priorities.&nbsp;</li> <li>Calm and composed under pressure.&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>High level&nbsp;of integrity and commitment to exam security and fairness.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>APPLICATION</strong></p> <p>Your application must include a relevant cover letter and your resume.</p> <p>Interviews will commence upon receipt of suitable applicants.</p> <p><strong>STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETY</strong></p> <p>Trinity Anglican College is committed to being a Child Safe organisation.
