Cerdon College, Merrylands is seeking a skilled, contemporary and passionate Teacher of Drama & English to join our vibrant school community and enrich the lives of our students. This is a Permanent, Full Time position. Our ideal candidate would commence no later than Term 2, 2026. Experience teaching HSC courses is highly regarded. Cerdon College Merrylands is a Catholic secondary girls’ school founded by and educating in the tradition of the Marist Sisters. <p>The successful applicant will teach both Drama and English across Stages 4–6, with demonstrated capacity to deliver engaging and rigorous HSC courses.</p> <p>Depending on experience and suitability, there is the possibility of appointment as a 1pt Coordinator of Creative Arts, providing leadership and support within the Creative Arts faculty.</p> <p><strong>You will have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Extensive pedagogical knowledge and understanding of how English and Drama are learned, including what affects students’ opportunities to learn and how teaching practice can enhance outcomes.</li> <li>Experience teaching Stage 6 courses (HSC experience highly regarded).</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to differentiate learning to cater for diverse student needs in order to maximise student achievement.</li> <li>Sound understanding of effective learning environments, lesson planning, integration of technology, contemporary teaching practices, and delivery of assessment and feedback.</li> <li>A commitment to continual improvement of teaching practice and ongoing professional development.</li> <li>The ability to work creatively and constructively within a range of communities inside and beyond the school.</li> <li>The capacity to motivate students to achieve and develop a life-long love of learning, particularly within the creative and performing arts.</li> <li>(For applicants seeking the Coordinator role) Demonstrated leadership capacity, organisational skills, and the ability to support and guide colleagues within the Creative Arts faculty.</li> </ul> <p>Essential Qualifications and Accreditations:</p> <ul> <li>Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).</li> <li>Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete).</li> <li>Valid Working with Children Check (for employment purposes).</li> </ul> <p>The Organisation</p> <p>Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 80 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.</p> <p>This position involves working with children.
