<p>Knox Grammar School is an independent, multi-campus Kindergarten to Year 12 day and boarding school for boys, located at Wahroonga on Sydney’s North Shore. In addition to the single-sex campuses, Knox also operates Wahroonga Preparatory School, a co-educational campus for students Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.</p>

<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The HSC Presiding Officer will work closely with the Heads of Academy to manage with a high level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality, the preparation and supervision of examinations at Knox Grammar School (‘the school’) which include:</p>
<ul>
<li>HSC Trial Examinations – 13th August – 28th August </li>
<li>Year 11 Finals – 31st August – 11th September </li>
<li>HSC exams - 13th October – 5th November </li>
</ul>
<p>Appointed and remunerated by NESA, the Presiding Officer works closely with experienced senior staff in a well-organised, supportive environment. With clearly defined responsibilities and fixed examination periods, the role is ideal for an organised, calm professional seeking a meaningful, time-limited appointment.</p>
<p>Your calm, fair leadership helps create exam conditions that allow students to perform at their best during a pivotal academic milestone. You lead exam supervisors and work alongside an Assistant Presiding Officer, while being supported by experienced senior staff such as Heads of Academy and the Director of Studies.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Securely collecting and transporting exam papers to and from a security centre and keeping them secure until the commencement of exam.</li>
<li>Rostering, and leading a team of exam supervisors. Providing briefings to supervisors before each exam to ensure they are aware of their duties and any special arrangements.</li>
<li>Ensuring exams start/finish on time, enforcing NESA rules, managing student conduct, and implementing approved disability provisions.</li>
<li>Managing and implementing the policies and procedures for Special Provisions and illness misadventure for examinations</li>
<li>Have good public speaking abilities </li>
<li>Adhering to all NESA administrative, security, and child protection procedures. </li>
<li>Acting as the primary point of contact between NESA and the school principal or delegate.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment is mandatory.</li>
<li>Must be available for the entire HSC exam period, HSC trials and Year 11 finals</li>
<li>Have physical ability to handle heavy exam material and stand for long periods</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license and a vehicle with comprehensive insurance to transport papers.</li>
<li>Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly regarded in a school or Higher Education setting.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and proficiency with email, Microsoft Word, and Excel including the ability to download documents</li>
<li>Must be able to work calmly and under pressure to tight deadlines </li>
<li>Be well organised with attention to detail</li>

<p><strong>RESTRICTIONS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Candidates cannot be appointed if they have a child or close relative (including nieces/nephews/cousins/grandchildren) sitting for the HSC in that year.</li>
<li>have been recently employed by Knox Grammar School (paid or volunteer), including but not limited to clerical staff, casual, relief, part-time or permanent teachers, canteen volunteers, board members or P&C members</li>
<li>been a tutor to HSC students</li>
</ul>
