<p>Calling all book lovers, learning leaders, and curiosity creators!<br><br> St James’ Primary School, Kotara South is on the lookout for a Permanent Part-Time (0.75 FTE) Primary Teacher Librarian to join our vibrant school community as soon as possible.<br><br> St James’ is a Catholic systemic school within the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, welcoming students from Kindergarten to Year 6.<br> We’re a school where learning is alive — grounded in contemporary, evidence-based teaching, powered by collaboration, and shaped around the needs of every child.<br><br> Our teachers and students work side-by-side to create a stimulating, engaging, and personalised learning environment.<br> At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to a safe, supportive community and a belief in educating the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.<br><br><br><br><a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://mncatholic.sharepoint.com/:b:/t/HR-HumanResourcesTeamSite-Active-PositionDescriptionLibrary/EV0uLcZAqPNIkneNogix96MBTfIQwgihBMPcb2GHHgzmGQ?e=Njh1pt"><strong>POSITION DESCRIPTION</strong></a><br><br> The role of the Teacher Librarian is to</p> <ul> <li>Provide engaging learning experiences for students</li> <li>Manage information and resources</li> <li>Support and drive contemporary teaching and learning ensuring that learning in the library is contemporary, inquiry based, rich in thinking and technology</li> <li>Work in collaboration with the school’s leadership team and with the CSO Digital Innovation and Learning team to act as a catalyst for change and build teacher capacity to improve student outcomes</li> </ul> <p>through the use of resource management time:</p> <ul> <li>to manage the library, facilitate and develop the library space and resources, both physical and digital, supported by the School Officer/Library Assistant</li> <li>to collaborate with classroom teachers in developing contemporary teaching to ensure that curriculum is delivered more effectively for the benefit of students</li> </ul>
