<p><strong>Education Officer: Formation &amp; Religious Education (Secondary)</strong><br><strong>Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst</strong><br><strong>Temporary Full-Time Position (Secondment Coverage)</strong><br><strong>Commencing ASAP by Negotiation - 24 December 2026</strong></p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong><br> Situated within the Faith Formation and Religious Education team, the Education Officer: Formation &amp; Religious Education (Secondary) supports the implementation of the Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst Faith Formation Framework and the design and delivery of quality learning and quality teaching practices.</p> <p>As the new Education Officer, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Actively promote the Vision and Mission of Catholic education in the Diocese</li> <li>Facilitate collaboration in relation to the complementary roles of Pastors, parent,<br> teachers and the diocesan Ministry Team in the ministry of Catholic education</li> <li>Develop and lead the implementation of Stage 4 and Stage 5 Religious Education<br> Curriculum</li> <li>Develop and lead the implementation of Stage 6 Studies in Catholic Thought and<br> Studies of Religion.</li> <li>Collaborate with the Head of Faith Formation and Religious Education on<br> opportunities for faith formation development</li> <li>Coordinate and facilitate forum for spiritual formation (eg workshops, retreats and<br> other programs)</li> <li>Support the Youth Ministry and formation</li> <li>Be expected to undertake regular travel with overnight stays</li> </ul> <p><strong>About you</strong><br> We are looking for someone who meets the following selection criteria:</p> <ul> <li>Commitment and capacity to support the values and ethos of the Catholic tradition<br> in the workplace</li> <li>A background in Secondary Catholic school education with demonstrated success as<br> a classroom practitioner</li> <li>Experience in Religious Leadership in Catholic Schools including staff mentoring,<br> supervision and leading liturgical events</li> <li>Ability to support teachers to improve Religious Education teaching and learning.</li> <li>Relevant teaching or pastoral experience with practice in developing and<br> implementing faith formation materials, particularly to adults</li> <li>Strong communicator with effective negotiation and influencing skills.
