Undertake maintenance and repair work to the school buildings and grounds to ensure a safe environment for the school community.</p> <p>Click here to view the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://c.smartrecruiters.com/sr-company-attachments-prod-aws-dc5/64b0a600312c281d46c0f5d1/667eebc7-655b-4e5e-ac00-bfa23006dbc5?r=s3-eu-central-1">Position Profile.</a></p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure building systems and machines run smoothly e.g. air conditioning, pumps</li> <li>Undertake repair/maintenance work as required to school buildings e.g. replacing locks, windows &amp; light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs</li> <li>Perform routine maintenance of equipment</li> <li>Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken</li> <li>Handle, store, and distribute goods/materials</li> <li>Move equipment/furniture as required</li> <li>Upkeep school grounds e.g. mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter</li> <li>Assist with school improvements e.g. fencing, paving, gardening projects</li> <li>Complete daily grounds maintenance reports</li> <li>Train new employees in groundskeeping duties</li> <li>Drive school vehicles as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About the School:</strong></p> <p>Aspect Hunter School provides placement for approximately 270 students on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten to year 12 at its main school at Thornton, and across its satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in Newcastle, Hunter and Port Macquarie regions.
