St Bernard's PS Coburg, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic, Finance and Administration Officer to join our team. This position is initially offered on a one-year contract, with potential for further extension. St Bernard's has a strong focus on learning & relationships. <p>This administration position has a key role to play in the School at the operational level. The role is vital to the efficient and smooth running of the School on a day to day basis. Duties include processing in a comprehensive computerised administrative system for student records; purchase orders, banking, personnel records, office coordination, administrative services and a component of front reception and first aid duties. </p>

<p><strong>ROLE DESCRIPTION</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Key Focus:</strong></p>
<p>The successful applicant must demonstrate</p>
<ul>
<li>a commitment to the ethos, values and mission of Catholic education. </li>
<li>previous experience in administration, finance and client service; ideally in a school setting.</li>
<li>well-developed organising, planning and coordination skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and to handle multiple demands effectively and efficiently.</li>
<li>high proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google suites including:<br>
Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Google Docs, Sheets and Calendar<br>
sound knowledge of general IT systems and applications including spreadsheets and databases competent in Intranet and Internet.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills including:<br>
-the capacity to communicate effectively at all levels with the teachers, principals, parish priests, families, schools and government departments<br>
demonstrated ability to work as part of a team<br>
-excellent telephone manner.<br>
-high attention to detail and the ability to multitask; setting timelines and meeting deadlines.<br>
-demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive confidential information.</li>
<li>a willingness to work with ICON MACS Shared Services Centre daily to complete all tasks</li>
<li>a willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.<br>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities and Requirements </strong></p>
<p>The Finance and Administration Officer provides high-quality administrative support to ensure the effective management of student information, enrolments, attendance, and compliance requirements in accordance with Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) and school policies. This role also supports the smooth daily operation of the school office through general administration and reception duties.</p>
<p>Applicants are asked to demonstrate:</p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in school or administrative systems is an advantage.</li>
<li>Current First Aid certificate, Police check and Working with Children's check.</li>
<li>Appropriate certificates or diplomas of business or accounting.</li>
</ul>
