<p><strong>Terms and conditions of employment</strong></p>
<p>This is a Temporary Part-Time (0.6 FTE) position covered within the NSW Independent Schools (Teaching Staff) CMEA Hybrid Model. </p>
<p><strong>Appointment </strong></p>
<p>This is a temporary position for 2026, commencing Term 2, 2026 and ending Term 3, 2026.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>Appropriate tertiary qualifications recognised by the NSW Institute of Teachers for eligibility to teach in New South Wales.</p>
<p><strong>Responsible to</strong></p>
<p>The Principal, Korowal School. </p>
<p>The Primary teachers meet and work regularly with the Primary School Coordinator and Deputy Principal to ensure coherence and continuity in curriculum delivery within the accepted practices and culture of the school.</p>

<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>The implementation of syllabuses as described in the NSW Curriculum. </li>
<li>Provide an engaging, vibrant, supportive learning environment, working within the vision of Korowal School.</li>
<li>Provide effective feedback to students.</li>
<li>Maintenance of programs, registers and work samples.</li>
<li>Upholding of our School’s policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Playground duties.</li>
<li>Attendance at parent/teacher evenings, and other School community events including the annual Fair and Open Day. </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Selection Criteria (these must be addressed in your application)</strong></p>
<p>The successful applicant will have:</p>
<ul>
<li>An appropriate qualification which is recognised by the NSW Institute of Teachers and current registration with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).</li>
<li>A current Working with Children Check registered number.</li>
<li>Experience in teaching the NSW Australian Curriculum in a primary school and understanding of regulations and legislation relevant to teaching primary students in NSW.</li>
<li>Experience working as a team member in a collegiate teaching environment.</li>
<li>Experience/training in an explicit approach to teaching literacy through phonics and phonemic awareness. </li>
<li>Experience in teaching with project-based learning and sustainability initiatives would be an advantage.</li>
<li>An ability to lead children in singing, recorder playing and reading music.</li>
<li>An ability to lead children in speaking, listening and drama activities.</li>
<li>An ability to draw and lead children through guided art activities. </li>
<li>A willingness to uphold Korowal School’s values and ethos.</li>
