Come and be part of a community that truly values and invests in you.</p> <p><strong>Duties</strong></p> <ul> <li>Plan and deliver an English curriculum to Senior School students from Years 9-12 allowing for different learning styles and academic needs</li> <li>Prepare course materials&nbsp;</li> <li>Work collaboratively with other members of the Senior School team</li> <li>Participate in curriculum development</li> <li>Participate in professional development activities&nbsp;</li> <li>Liaise with students and parents&nbsp;</li> <li>Participate in the school’s co-curricular program if required&nbsp;</li> <li>Support the Christian ethos of an Anglican School</li> <li>Other duties as required</li> </ul> <p><strong>Pastoral Care</strong></p> <ul> <li>Take responsibility for a Pastoral Care class, including:</li> <li>-&nbsp; &nbsp;Developing positive relationships with students</li> <li>-&nbsp; &nbsp;Monitoring uniform, appearance and student behaviour</li> <li>-&nbsp; &nbsp;Teach the Pastoral Care program</li> <li>-&nbsp; &nbsp;Liaise with parents regarding academic and pastoral progress of students</li> <li>-&nbsp; &nbsp;Undertake administrative tasks required</li> </ul> <p><strong>Selection riteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>A relevant teaching qualification and experience teaching English (including Essential English) to Senior School students</li> <li>A passion for effective teaching and learning</li> <li>An understanding of positive education theory and practices</li> <li>The ability to teach Humanities subjects would be an advantage</li> <li>An interest in working with adolescents&nbsp;</li> <li>The ability to differentiate the teaching program to address students’ learning styles and varied academic needs;</li> <li>A willingness to participate in curriculum development and professional development</li> <li>Expertise or interest in the emotional, social and physical development of adolescents&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience in the meaningful integration of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) into the curriculum</li> <li>Experience in teaching students with special learning needs</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Salary, Terms and Conditions</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will be employed under the <i>Independent Schools (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025</i>.</p> <p><strong>The application</strong></p> <p>Applicants should provide the following documents,&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Covering letter, addressing the criteria listed above and outlining how you would approach the position (no more than 3 pages in length)</li> <li>Curriculum vitae (no more than 4 pages)</li> <li>A certified copy of your academic transcript</li> <li>Teacher Quality Institute registration.&nbsp; More information about registration is available at <a href="http://www.tqi.act.edu.au/registration" rel="nofollow"><strong>http://www.tqi.act.edu.au/registration</strong></a></li> <li>Working with Vulnerable People check</li> <li>Details of three professional referees</li> </ul> <p><strong>Applications Close: Friday 27 February 2025</strong></p> <p>An early application is advised as we reserve the right to close the vacancy early if sufficient suitable applications are received.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
